Nursing can be rewarding, but you have to realize what you're getting into. My mom was a nurse for most of her adult life, and it's a very stressful and messy job. For one thing, nurses are sort of the doctors' "underlings" and have to do all of the dirty work. It's likely that you'll come in contact with blood, vomit, and human waste. The job requires someone who is really chipper, positive, has a lot of stamina, and who is good at dealing with sudden problems, both medical and emotional (remember, not all patients have a Little Miss Sunshine disposition
