Thanks to [info]raelala for sharing this gem: Reasoning With Vampires. Basically, an entire blog dedicated to why the Twilight series is BADLY WRITTEN PAP. Even without all the philosophical and plot disasters.

gee reading your posts makes me very sad that we are behind on tv over here. just yesterday the Glee season 1 finale.

sigh. miss rocky horror. hate that so many people I know now have have no idea what it meant to go see rocky horror and shout out and throw things (slight to younger and insecure to have ever dressed up). mercedes as frank is just so wrong it terrifies me that they thought of it. would have been awesome if they could have gotten tim curry (meatloaf, barry bostwick squee!) but really the only one i want to see dressed up in that corset is Mr Shue. Although, I guess now that I think on it, since he is their teacher maybe not quite the thing. sigh. still, the fantasizing....

I've only touched the SURFACE of Reasoning With Vampires. Mostly because all I do is nod my head and go, "Yeah! Sing it, sister! Right on!" I think they should hand out a printed version of the blog with every copy of the Twilight books.

Oh, I know. There are still places that do Rocky, but I think it's a lot more sporadic than it was back in the 80's, and really only happens in bigger cities. I would love to go do it again!

Originally, Mike Chang was going to be Frankenfurter (which idea cracked me up), but when his parents read the script, they said NO WAY. I can't really blame them, I guess. Rocky isn't really appropriate for a school production. It's meant for sneaking out to see on Saturday night at midnight. *G*

Dude, Mr. Shue ends up half-naked at the end of "Toucha-Toucha-Toucha-Touch Me" -- wearing nothing on top but a tie. He is SMOKING freaking hot, dude.

I vaguely remember the Cold Case Rocky ep. I love that show. Wasn't it a sort of Brad/Janet kind of couple and the guy ended up dead? Sheesh, I don't remember!

Barry Bostiwck is in the COld Case Rocky Horror. It doesn't go quite how you remember, but he is great and its one of the better episodes.

I agree with you 100% about the Glee Rocky Horror episode. "Toucha, Toucha, Touch Me" had me both laughing and cringing. We can how many erection jokes on any given night of television, but "seat wetting" is too risque?

I will say, though, that this is the first night of Glee that had me dancing and singing along in a long time. Overall, I'm glad they did it.

Yes on the hypocrisy of the way they censored Rocky! I mean... you can say "transvestite," but you can't say "transsexual"??? WHAT? I'm sorry, that whole number was just a mess, imo, and since it's my favorite, it really bugged.

I wanted to see Mike Change as Rocky. Hee. Actually, I wanted to see Mr. Shue as Rocky. *G*

But yeah, overall, I would rather have seen it than not. The more Rocky is brought into a newer generation's consciousness, the better! I mean, it's not really that racy anymore, is it? It's just fun. I just wish there was somewhere around here where I could go do it again! I did the Time Warp with the Glee kids the other night, and it was a BLAST... except, you know, it hurt my knee. ;)
