I think your tag says it all. It's difficult to find a discussion about the shows that doesn't attract the types who are only interested in bashing characters and/or other ships. I actually read a comment in a thread about DB's infidelities that was calling out Bangel fans for defending him. I mean, BtVS/Ats weren't even being discussed, but someone felt the need to bring fans of a ship from a show DB used to be on. Pathetic.

Which threads, of course, concern what a horrible, evil douchebag Angel is (guess why. I dare you.).

I'm afraid to ask. I'm sure it's completely absurd whatever it is.

And I know that I've already mentioned it, but I'm thrilled that you're writing B/A again!

I was also pleased to see Raising Hope get a full season order. I couldn't stop laughing the other night when they were discussing the various boat names they came up with. "Yeah, Buoy" still cracks me up.

What does DB's problems have to do with Angel and B/A? It's more of that crap that people can't separate actor and character. I hated Cordelia, but that didn't have anything to do with Charisma

Absolutely nothing. But this poster felt it was important to mention that Bangel fans were defending him. Not Booth/Brennan fans or even C/A fans for that matter. B/A fans. WTF? They take every opportunity to bash the fans and by association, the ship, when they can. Ridiculous.

The reason I hinted at above? Angel is a horrible jerkface asshole because Spike is wonderful and awesome and perfect and can do no wrong.

I was right, it is absurd.

I am loving writing B/A again, even though I'm rusty as hell, and the fluff is NOT coming (so to speak) easily.

Hee. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get some fluffy inspiration. I do like the angst, but I want to see my favorite couple get a little happiness, too. Though I'm sure I'll enjoy whatever you have to offer. :-)

I don't get it. I mean, I have my issues with certain characters who shall remain nameless, and a certain subsection of unnamed characters fans. But I don't go out of my way to bash them. I don't even disparage them in my own journal, in spite of years of taking their freaking abuse. Hell, I got heckled when I was on a panel at the first Writercon and I didn't freak out. I had serious problems with the Spuffy relationship for a number of reasons, some textual, some RL message-related. I wrote an essay about it, but didn't feel the need to throw shit at people like a rabid monkey. Stupid.

I have fluffy ideas, fear not! It's just that every time I start to write, the WANGST MONSTER appears and says "Hey, you have to get through me first." And I'm all, "HEY, this is supposed to be SCHMOOP. GO AWAY."

We're working on it. I guess my muse is depressed. ;)

No I didn't! YAY! Not that I was really concerned. LOL. Things are heating up so hard now, I don't see how they're going to wrap everything up in only 8 more episodes!

I am with you on this. As a Buffy/Spike shipper for a loooong time I remember when the especially VIOLENT and graphic sex eps came out between the two, fandom EXPLODED. Some saying it was too much, others saying that Spike was a rapist, (remember THAT ep?) and my loathing for Xander became intense during this time and I got so flamed for my opinions. I also got "stabbed" in backlash for my love of the last season of Angel, believing it was the best. *shrug* Can't we all just get along?

And I still see it. I have ventured away from that fandom, it all making my skin crawl in the end. I am sure there is the same shit here in SPN land, I just havent seen it yet. But, all fandoms are bat shit crazy and we stay cause hell, its what we love.

I'm lucky in that my little corner of B/A fandom has always been really supportive of one another, because we've been getting bashed (or at least mocked) since forever. But yeah, the absolute explosion in fandom during season 6 got just completely out of hand... and a lot of this enmity we see now are remaining echoes of that time

I am with you. I am a Dean/Castie shipper. Hard core. I also ship Sam/Castiel. I will ship Cas with a broom stick if it seems sexy :P

But yeah maybe I should stay away from the Wincest side. Hmmmm

I'm so upset it doesn't seem like we're getting full time Castiel this season. After Dean, he's SO my favorite character. Dean/Cas is a great ship. I love those ships where one is sort of street smart (but tender on the inside, of course), and the other is sort of sweet and clueless (but still badass.) They're awesome.

Heh. I'm the same way with Eric from True Blood. Guy, girl, vampire, werewolf, faerie... wall, pole, chair, whatever. ;) As long as he's naked, I'm good.
