George Lucas Converting Star Wars Saga to 3-D.

[whacks George Lucas's knuckles with a ruler until he promises to stop it already, goddamn it.]

I KNOW, RIGHT? First he REWRITES the goddamn originals and sticks in utterly unnecessary "special effects," then he ADDS three NEW utterly unnecessary (and, imo, crappy) movies, now this?

SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE THESE TOYS AWAY FROM HIM, STAT. And also? Explain the concept that "just because you can, doesn't mean you SHOULD."

There are some B/A short stories here you might enjoy.

As long as there's some mushy, florfy schmoop in there, I'll be happy. ;)

Thank you for the link! I haven't been around in a while, and I've lost track of the fic trends.

Tony Curtis has gone? Shame - he seems to have been around forever - and I'm uh... a mature lady. (Unless we're talking about Angel shirtless, that is!)

And the comics? Nah. Don't read them, don't want to, don't consider them canon. They sound rather silly to me...

I mean, you know older entertainers are going to die, but you never really BELIEVE it, right? I can't remember who it was -- I want to say Bob Hope -- but when he died, I thought to myself (first that it was sad, of course), but then that he had been around my whole life, and was always sort of elderly. I never really thought about the possibility that he would pass away.

And on that morbid note...

I've read a few of the Angel comics and part of the Buffy ones that have Angel in them (and I'm sorry, I know they give many shippers a happy in their pants, but the storyline is RIDICULOUS and makes Angel look like a jackass, and ends with freaking SPIKE saving the day. *spits*). The Angel ones are actually not bad, especially "After the Fall" -- it was interesting to find out what Whedon imagined might have happened after Not Fade Away.

Of course, I don't give more credence to the comics than I do fanfic, so... If I'm not looking at the actors on screen, it ain't canon.

I think Lady Gaga is less Madonna and more Dale Bozzio.

OMG MISSING PERSONS! You're so right! I mean, as far as being Over The Top goes. When I say Madonna, I mean as far as being a cultural splash thing (I don't want to say "icon", because GODS FORFEND that Gaga stays around that long.)

A meat suit? Really? My dad was like, "Makes me want to throw the fool on the grill with a nice spicy BBQ sauce." Heh.

I do consider comics canon inasmuch as JW has a hand in them, but I'm happy in denial land. Old habits die hard, I guess. Nice to see you around again, sweetie. I've been gone for a while too, so I'm just starting to get my fandom feet back under me. Man, a girl's gone for three months and one of her fandoms has reached a finale and theres this HUGE kerfuffle about bash!fic... *tears up* It used to be a FUN fandom, you know?

I've heard a lot about AO3. Is it a good place to post? And by that, I mean, do people actually read stories there? Because most of the time I see AO3 as the place where people post stories and then link to from their own journals/fic comms.

As for fluffy B/A. http://fluffernutter8.livejournal.com/52117.html, http://community.livejournal.com/kitteninthedark/176992.html

Don't have a specific third, but pretty much everything posted at ba_rosebuds woudl work.

You're writing? YAY! *dances happy

Bah! You know how much regard I hold for Whedon. ;) I did enjoy the Angel comics I read, though.

Which of your fandoms blew up? I gave up really getting involved in any other fandom. Like in True Blood, the exact same nonsense started happening there that happened in our fandom -- only it was Eric vs. Bill instead of Angel vs. Spike, and you can't have a friggin' conversation without Bill fans bringing him up. It gets annoying. Every other fandom (except maybe Star Trek Reboot? They're pretty accepting of every pairing over there) I've seen around has issues like that. I'd rather just stay in my little corner and do and say and write as I like ( ... )

Sorry, my reccing abilities are below zero. Not only do I have no confidence in correcting English, but I'm a comma enthusiast and I've developed a semi-colon fixation - my betas manage that, so I'm happy. I'd tell you to ask Kairos, but I do believe she's got her hands full with a couple beta works for IWRY (and IWRY is coming again! WOOHOO!!!). Having you posting B/A fic this month will be excellent primer for the marathon. *happy grin*

Vampire Knight is at odds again. Which should be impossible since it's a flea-sized fandom, but I guess nasty bugs get everywhere. *sulks* I've never wandered into True Blood fandom land. I 'ship Bill/Sookie there, but my favorite character is Eric (I'm only up to S2, though. I should have gotten the 3rd season instead of Bones5. But... a DB fan has DB priorities, even when the show is *facepalmOMGkillmenow ( ... )

I know! I'm looking forward to IWRY this year. Except the angst -- IT HURTS! *sniffle* Actually, the first ficlet I finished yesterday is set on the Day That Wasn't. Honestly, just because of that I'm not sure if it counts as schmoop (it's for schmoop_bingo -- if I go for an all B/A black out, that's 25 B/A fics! Plus I'm trying to finish up a couple of short ones that I left everybody hanging on.) because of the IRONY. *sob ( ... )
