i SWEAR i wasn't the person who wrote this...really

If you are a fanfic writer, please take a moment to read the following article. It is amazingly snarky and hilariously sarcastic and informative. There's so much crap going around these days about the non-exisitant rights of fic authors, and this helps clear the subject up beautifully I think.

*rolls around laughing*

What a twerp. How old is she? And, for the record... has anyone read her fic? Is she actually any good? My guess is no.

And dude, who fucking cares if your fic gets passed around in a torrent file? Her name was on it! How is that remotely different from reading it on a server?

And if she thinks she's going to get published, she's insane. Twilight is nowhere near the point of being open for public use.

In short: moron.

IKR? And a good number of fic authors behave this same way under these circumstances. Where do their egos come from? Good lord.

A lot of fic authors try to get published. They just change the names, and they usually write all-human stories that barely resemble Twilight except for the names and some emerald-eyed bad boy named Edward.

When the characters fail to even reflect the vaguest impression of their canon characterization aside from name and physical attributes (though, not even then, in the case of biracial-Bella), does it even count as fanfiction anymore?

I would say "no" without hesitating, but the majority of the E/B fandom would give a resounding "Hell, yes!" That's what the majority of E/B fic is nowadays. So unfortunate.

Also...Stop making me picture Jace as Malfoy! D: *pats Jace's lovely blonde curls reassuringly*

You're just stealing names and locations (sometimes not even locations!) for some inconceivable reason.
That's it. Some AU that I start to read, and stopped on the first chapter, are something incredible insane. Bella, Jacob and any other character of Twilight are turned into something else, and I'm thinking why these autors don't write their on stories, with their own characters, since that they already did this.

LOL. People are weird.
Honestly, if I ever wrote fanfic that got passed around on a torrent file... I'd be flattered.

A lot of E/B authors who write AH fic tend to copywrite and get too big for their britches eventually, and pull their fics under some thinly-disguised excuse - usually plagiarism and/or unauthorized translations. This is why I believe AH fics are a curse upon this fandom.

Yep. I see this all. the. time. Obnoxious to the extreme.

(BTW, I got you're tweet several days ago that you were reading the story I sent you. So thank you for that. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something you might have sent my way since then via email.)

YES! I did start reading it, and then I got sidetracked. I've been meaning to finish. What I'd read so far, though, was top notch. It is a shame you can't do a full multi-chaptered, longer piece dedicated to this story, too, because of the nature of the structure (and being under 20k in length) you can't get too wordy and really delve into the details

I know. The moment I actually took the time to last week to write out everything I wanted to happen in the story, I was like, "Shit." lol. I really don't want to go over the 20k mark, but we'll see.

Thanks!
