How many WIPs are you following at the moment? Are they all Twilight? All J/B ( Read more... )

J/B are the only fics that I'm reading actually (after pass all my teenage reading HP fics). Lately, I'm avoiding WIP, because the never ending wait for an update is frustrating. So, I'm preferring complete works. The exception: "Midnight skies", by lilabut. I keep an eye in "Unimpressed" and still waiting hopefully for uptades in "Dreaming of Butterflies" and "If you twist and turn away".

I've got about 5 going right now. It was 4 since exquisitely_ugly finished Wedding Sex and I was so thrilled that I was down to 4 - but then audreyii started her new one and I'm back up to 5. Four of them are J/B, one is J/R, but I may drop that one. The story is good, but I cringe reading about a 26 year old Jacob and an 8 year old Renesmee. I just can't do it, so I'm dropping that one.
I tell myself every night to stop reading fanfiction and go back to reading "real" books.
*sigh* Wish I could break my Jacob Black addiction.

I think I've done it to myself by following more than I could handle. I think I'm following more than 10 right now and get about 5 or 6 updates weekly, sometimes more and can be frustrating trying to catch up as fast as possible. Im often glued to my iphone! I sometimes have to wait for something I've gotten so attached to and when the chapter is finally up, I then have to read the last chapter to refresh my memory. It gets a little annoying at times, but there are some that I can't forget and even if the update comes a little later than anticipated, I immediately feel I'm fine to read it without back tracking. That's why I think it's important for writers to keep at a steady pace, but I also understand they have lives. I'd rather read complete fics though and feel a sense of completeness at the end and not a tug at my heartstrings. ^^Willow2883- I'm Jacob obsessed too...but I love Bella with Jacob so I think I'm a little more than obsessed....what's the word for it?
