Back home in Fredonia. My mom and sister are throwing us a baby shower. We drove out here last night and we'll be headed back after the festivities are done today. Had jessamine6 come up to Port Washington last night for dinner at Smith Brothers, and then we talked for a while afterwards, mostly about baby stuff ( Read more... )

This'll sound totally weird. But the twins were in my dream last night too. Those must be two very tired girls for all their running around in dreams!

No really, I'm very interested in how I was in two friends' dreams last night. Well I'm assuming they weren't bad dreams (at least I hope not)...

I remember that the dream was frustrating more than anything else, but I don't think that that part of it was.

We'd love to have some company coming down to convention, maybe meeting us in southern MI (and if it's at Spring Break time, I'd be happy to drive over there with you from MN.)

Andy, you're a real sweetheart, you know that. Not a term that I use for other guys much, but I think that it really applies to you.

Thanks for the offer, but it doesn't really address the primary issues; let me explain. Getting myself to and from Roanoke relatively cheaply is not a problem, because of carpooling and hotel roommates, I ended up spending a lot less than I anticipated going to convention last year, and I'm sure that I could repeat that if I wanted to next year. However, after the last convention, Andrea and I decided that in the future, we'd be going to convention together. That means paying for kenneling and petsitting, which gets very expensive very quickly, and because the baby will be 6 months old or so, we really don't feel like we could leave it behind for convention, which would add some amount of complication to the trip. So we'd have to manage those issues and still figure out how to do the trip on the cheap, which will be harder to do without carpoolers and roommates.
