Run and run and run and run and run and run and STOP!

Today's been a game of hurry up and wait! I don't think I'd realized how early the roofer was going to be here today, so straight out of bed (after a bit of internetting to wake up) Bo and I scrambled to get dressed and ready and then get the house presentable for guests. Andi and a couple days of negligence on my part made this a two hour job, but ( Read more... )

I've noticed that the church thing for the faithful seems more of a chore than it should be. o.oa I'm more than content to sleep in and enjoy coffee on a Sunday, than let someone yammer at me in a sleep deprived stupor.

Hope your Sunday turns out well. And yes. I'm ready for cold to be gone.

Well, the yammering often contains life lessons that are best learned when one is present. I have yet to find a pastor who will come and speak to me personally on my couch while I huddle down because I'm too selfish and lazy to give some time to God when he's given us an entire existence.

It's just a little thing, you know.

Our church is very fun and engaging. We're in a "thinking church" that often gives thought-provoking messages and not dry recitals. Also, the junior pastor is my age and was my friend before he became a pastor, so he's very easy for me to listen to and understand.

Our service two weeks ago featured Star Wars and how it tied in with the Bible and books omitted from the bible. The metaphor they used drove the point home solidly. It was very worth waking up.

That's different. If there's a level at which you can connect with, go for it. I've know people to use church as a means of planning their weeks out.
