Nngh! Another art theft post

There's this utter dingus who copied my Fran picture and posted it with no credit or link to the original image. A fellow DA user called him on it and the offending artist just deleted his comment. The other DA user also reported him for copyright violation, so I really don't feel the need to continue bothering the admins over that. They'll get ( Read more... )

If he keeps hiding your comments and requests to link and credit you for it, report it. That's really the only other option.

I think I'll give him one more day before I report him. I've sent him a private note today. I know he's reading the comments or otherwise he wouldn't be hiding him. I don't know if he thinks the admin won't do anything about it or if he hasn't done anything wrong.

There's a community here on LJ that reports art theft. Their theory is if they get enough people to report the violation the staff will act quicker on it. Community is called Art_theft.

Thank you! I'm aware of it. I've never been sure if they'll act like a well-meaning and responsible group of concerned citizens or if it'll be a lynch mob. Then again, I've never seen them in action.

Generally what I've seen they're a bunch of responsible people making sure peoples art isn't taken.

Oh, that's good! I'd feel so bad if I mobilized a hate group on someone like that ^^; I think I'll ask for their help next time.

Good luck.
I'm over at art_theft too...The only problem you have with lynch mods is if someone else does notice the image and know he original...and if they do manage to catch a message before its hidden...=T Then people seem to act likes its a free for all o_O;...Depending on how bad the theft it...Its...sad =(...But generally people at art_theft always are looking out to do the right thing.

I suspected there could be some lynch mentality. Thank you for letting me know more about them, though. Art Theft is a big enough problem (for me and others) that I think I may join the community.

=( Which is so unfortunent....I have noticed, seems that the same artists keep on getting ripped off...Would be nice to have you aboard, makes things easy when there are a lot of different artists who can spot certain artists styles etc.
