Post-con, blah blah

We survived the con, obviously. And I'm proud to say we made a profit. In fact, we did very well for such a small convention. Amusingly, Bo had badge #1 and mine was #2 just from pre-registering so early. The 'How to Draw' panel that I was told was to be held on Sunday, instead was scheduled for Saturday. Aside from a bit of flailing from lack of ( Read more... )

You know what.... until I went to Kumoricon last year (the firt one I sold at), I had no IDEA that Artist Alleys were supposed to be in dealer rooms! Because every single year (for years and years now, since I was age 16), Sakura-Con's AA IS hidden back away in some room! In fact, this year will be the FIRST time it's in a place big enough to have it IN the dealer's room along with the rest--it's the first time I'll be selling at it too. ^^ I'm so out of the "big con" loop, since I've never been to one. Sakura-Con is catching up tho. Maybe someday out-of-staters will actually wanna come to it. The venue did just change to uber-downtown Seattle in the giant-ass convention center... instead of being split between three hotels down by the airport. -_-

M'glad you had funa nd profit tho. ^___^ 'Sounds fun~ I can't wait for my con at the end of this month. ToT

Out of three conventions (both a small and medium-sized) last year, two of them had AA's in the Dealer's Room. The traffic was stupendous, but I hear the Dealers don't appreciate competing with artists that way. Also, it sometimes creates a bit of a traffic problem from people hanging out to talk to artists. Personally, I like the centralized exposure, but also being in a high trafficway like a hallway or by a staircase is ideal.

It always irritates me to see AAs secluded in out-of-the-way rooms as if they were tossed in as an afterthought.

I would've loved your input in the panel too! My favorite part of the entire thing was just sitting back and discussing fundamentals rather than 'teaching'. It really seemed to get everyone involved.

Anyway, I've got AWA on my planned cons this year and I'll definitely be selling there. I just need to be sure to have funds together before they sell out of table reservations.

Munny is a vinyl figure from Kidrobot. It comes as a completely blank canvas. The proportions are perfect for chibi versions of characters! And they have little nub tails on back.

If you make a Sanji Munny, I would buy it.
