GOSH THIS POST GOT SWALLOWED BY TORCHWOOD D:

It's interesting the range of subjects science undertakes. On one hand, there's the idea of crashing a spaceship into an asteroid (to divert its course and thus Save the Human Race), and then there's justification for bad habits (well, I love chocolate anyway, but it seems like we're trying to justify our obesity just a bit!). (Um, and this has ( Read more... )

He could've started looking for the other Risen Mitten or something, I DON'T KNOW XD

Someone should write fic about this, really.

I too have doubts about Jack/Ianto sometimes... Still, I keep pimping this essay, which I think addresses the complexity of the whole thing. I'm not complaining, because I love ambiguity, but sometimes writers like to make our heads hurt, huh?

I don't know, either. Also, I think one (Ianto) can be heterosexual and still be attracted to Jack. He doesn't care about categories, and maybe categories doesn't apply to those who fancy him. After all, who wouldn't? XD

Do I make any sense? Anyway, I pretty much agree with everything you said, and now I feel like watching Greeks Bearing Gifts while doing the ironing later. Because I can never get enough of Tosh either :)

(ramble or not, this was an interesting read)

That essay is very good. I need to read more of those sorts of things rather than "I LOVE JANTO COS IT'S HAWWWT!" (though I totally have those sorts of moments x))

I suppose the writers will have to clarify some things when Jack returns to Torchwood, but I think they probably quite like the controversy and discussion the current situation has caused. Bastards.

Jack/Ianto is an interesting ship, I guess I'm trying to logicize it a bit too much XD. It certainly is pretty, though!

You make a good point about Tosh. I was under the impression that Mary kind of manipulated Tosh to be with her. But maybe her reactions were based on a family upbringing. It's hard to say for certain since we're not given much background on her. All we have to go on is her encounter with Mary and a known crush on Owen. It'll be nice to see if we get to know more of her come season 2. I find her far more interesting than Owen and Gwen. As you said she contributes a whole lot more. If it weren't for her I don't know if any of Torchwood would even know how to work the computers. :P

Because Carys obviously did not attract every man instantly - at the clinic, she had to force herself on some men!Especially that one gay man. That scene constantly cracks me up. :P ( ... )

Straight boys don't come on to their bosses like that.

That is fantastic x). But, yeah, that was quite a strange proposition. I guess at Torchwood, instead of gossiping and such around the water cooler, they do it around the morgue XD.

Torchwood without computers would likely burn D:. Tosh has everything categorized and analyzed and she just does so much, but no one notices :|. Jack doesn't seem to like her much, as if he's wary of her.

Yeah, I think Ianto could be bisexual, but gosh, I do love fics that cite his homosexual history. "This is my ex-boyfriend Gav. I used to be a little goth kid, but I met him at a rave when I was high on ecstasy." Seriously, those things crack me up x).

Somewhere, John was talking about the kisses, and I believe he said there was some tongue in it, because a good kiss requires it, or something like that. But, yeah, there was the whole pressing together of bodies with Jack and Ianto, but maybe it was just like a hug and a kiss all wrapped in one? XD And the kiss wasn't very long or involved, like it was with the real Captain Jack ( ... )

Heehee XD

I think people agreed to donate their bodies once they were dead, to be dissected. I'm not really sure of anything culturally related beyond that, and I don't really have too strong an opinion on the matter; I'm just married to my psych book x). The thing I don't like about the "biological approach" is that it sort of makes homosexuality sound like a disease, and it's not. I would personally leave the issue alone altogether if it were up to me, but rawr society demands answers and is critical of different lifestyles and all that D:

I am quite willing to support Janto, though, because it's awful pretty, and I love them two :)
