Home, Sweet Home

Arrived safely at home yesterday morning after an eleven-day visit with wolfpaws and halex in Kansas City, Missouri. The bus ride was uneventful but far too long for me to consider doing all at once again. Next time I think I'll break it up into two parts with an overnight stay in Chicago. That'll hopefully give me a chance to get some sleep on my way to KC, ( Read more... )

This explains why I haven't seen you on Saturdays for a while };>. You've mostly just missed a lot of "rock band".

You've mostly just missed a lot of "rock band".

Would that I had missed it. I found that it was lying in wait for me at my destination. ;)

Actually, it was entertaining to watch the couple of times it was played during my stay, but I wasn't about to play it myself over there either.

I take it you've been to Chicago yourself, no? What all have you seen and done there? So far all that I've seen of the city is what can be seen from the Dan Ryan Expressway (which includes the downtown skyline, but still...).

Thanks, Jason, and it's good to hear from you too. I hope I can make a habit of this again, except this time with posts that one doesn't need a machete to get through. ;)

It was great to have you, and you're welcome ANYTIME (like usual!). Glad you got home safe 'n sound. I agree - next time we'll get you on something other than Greyhound - or if you want a stopover in Chicago, I can have some friends show you around. :)

Thanks, Adam! It was great to be your guest too! You're a very generous, thoughtful, accommodating and patient host, not to mention a real friend. :) I'd love to come over and visit you again when I can again afford the trip, which, as I said, I hope won't be after another whole year.

Since for the foreseeable future I probably won't be able to afford to travel any way other than by bus, who are these friends of yours in Chicago?

I know Innerwolf is in Chicago (Glen Ellyn actually) and he knows TONS of people in the area. I've met a few through him, but he's kind of the main person I know there.

How have you been? I haven't seen or heard from you in ages.

Hi, Steve! I've been all right for the most part, although I think I haven't changed all that much from the last time you saw me. I'm making more of an effort to move forward in my life as of late, though, including seeing a cognitive behavioural therapist to help me overcome my issues with academics. I'm also going to begin searching for a part-time job soon.

You haven't seen or heard from me in all this time probably because I haven't been on my IMs as much as before, as well as the facts that I rarely leave Toronto and that I've pretty much withdrawn from most of the GTA furry group. But maybe I can get a ride with Voralis to go and visit you sometime. I've heard that he and Lexx have been up to see you occasionally.

Hopefully, your life will continue to move in a good direction.

I've actually been fairly withdrawn from TorFur, myself. Though, with my impending marriage that has changed. My fiance is a little more socially outgoing than I am. (Strangely, I think he may be friends with as many furs in and around Toronto as I am, and he's from Indiana.)

It would be good to see you again. Lexx and I try to get together about once a month. Sometimes, we meet up at the Kennedy Commons.
