Ellie actually found herself to be more productive in the Compound, especially when there were tables to sit at when she did her work. She'd settled in the rec room, with her things all set in front of her. She didn't have much to do, but she wanted to get it over with anyway. Serena always found herself looking around, cautious, when the jukebox played this song, a number out of Rent. She'd connected to it when she'd been years younger, but she hadn't been friends with the show's lead at the time. It changed things. With no sign of Roger to be seen, Serena shimmied her way over to where Ellie sat.

"You're online with the feline of Avenue B - let's go out tonight," she sang, half under her breath, arms waving up over her head until she dropped down into a free seat near Ellie. "Hey. Busy?"

Ellie had known the song only vaguely, but it became apparent pretty quickly it was different in Serena's case. Looking up from her book, she smiled at her when she plopped down by her.

"Yes and no," she said, putting down her pen. "Just trying to do some things in advance so it doesn't all sneak up on me. What're you up to today?"

"Being a one woman musical," Serena said, nodding back at the jukebox. "Actually, I kind of have something I need to talk to you about, if you have a moment."

Weddings weren't usually in her repertoire, as parties went, but she'd seen more than enough of them in her lifetime, and she wasn't one to turn down pleas for help. And turning down Penny Lane? That was out of the question. So when Penny had asked for wedding assistance, Serena found all she could really do was agree, and happily, to help.

"Of course," she said, reaching over to close up her book. She wasn't sure what this was about, but her work wasn't pressing in the first place. She could take her break early. "What's up?"
