Title: Texas Hold 'em
Rating: PG
Warnings: Slash, angst
Pairings: Chris/Ezra, Ezra/JD
Disclaimer: I make no attempt to pretend that I own the Magnificent Seven. And appropriate kudos to whoever first named Ezra's horse.
Summary: Finding Ezra is only half the battle. The hardest part will be convincing him to come home.

And uh...apparently not. I'd meant to fit some sexing into this chapter, but I don't see either of them just jumping into it like that. And the fic just wanted to end there. Rest assured, though, I'll fit some Buck/JD sexing into part six if it kills me.
Anyway, I'm thinking once I'm done the main series, I'll go back and write some little inserts. Porn-flavoured inserts. Or at least I'll try - I'm not so good with smut (Shorter Odds was actually the first time I've summoned the courage to write the word 'cock' in a fic)
Or if you want to write some smut based on the situation, feel free.

'inserts' - funny, you punster. heh.

That was actually the main thing that saddened me about this story - 'Damn, I've run out of people to slash Vin with...'
Maybe I'll stick him with Chanu just for the hell of it.

You did so well showing Ezra's trapped feeling, JD's sadness, and Vin's determinations to see the "distractions" ended so his friends could get back to normal. It was sad to see that Ezra had been truly shocked to see them appear, having thought they were fully in agreement with his reasons for leaving.
Good to see they had no intention of either letting him leave or leaving without him. Those are one bunch of determined men!
But my favorite part had to be the ending.
There is a lot which could be said at this point, but it all seems somewhat futile. The air is full of the ghosts of words that died unspoken. But vows and promises and declarations are, in the end, are nothing more than words.
The silence is better. It demands no explanations.
Some things, however, need to be said.
"You're coming home with us?"
"Yes."Really, I think that said it all and was the perfect wrap-up for the hunt for ( ... )

Poor Ezra. I love him dearly, but his sense of self-worth is so tragically skewed. We can only hope Chris will bring him to his senses.
I wasn't quite sure about the ending - it seemed a little anti-climactic - so I'm glad you approve. Part six should be up soon!

Whew! After I wrote that I was afraid I might have been wrong about it but I thought it was very clever and really made me smile. I loved the image of Vin blocking that doorway and how the others were determined to bring Ezra back.

I agree and I think it's that vulnerability which makes him so wonderful and makes me want to cheer him on. I have confidence in Chris that he'll be able to get the job done. :-)

Oh, I didn't think it was anti-climactic at all. I thought it was rather hopeful. Glad part six will be up soon!

So yes. Part six soon. With the returning to Four Corners, and the Buck/JD sexing, and hopefully some off-screen Chris/Ezra sexing as well.

Okay, that's settled, now come on, shed those clothes and hop into that bed already you two!!!
I think there was stuff I wanted to mention about this part, about Ezra and JD and Vin's devilnesh and... and... BUT THEY'RE IN A ROOM TOGETHER! A HOTEL ROOM WITH A BED!
I simply can't think past that great image right now, except for: more please!

sorry, usually I can deliver a little more than that but DUDE. this was honestly the best Mag 7 slash I've ever read. you made it so plausible - I could definitely see this happening in canon, if first of all the show hadn't been canceled and second it wasn't aired on CBS.
you got everyone's voices down just perfectly. I particularly like the way you wrote JD - he's not that bumbling, green kid most writers make him out to be but he still has that essense of 'youth' that makes him him.
so yeah, this whole thing just completely blew my mind and I'm really looking forward to the next part!

I have to finish the next part now! Thanks for inspiring me to get off my lazy ass and do some writing ^^
