[ooc: I apologize for the tag and run. But I should be able to carry on the rp throughout the day tomorrow. AND REALLY I SHOULD SLEEP BEFORE I RP AND LEARN TO REPLY PROPERLY.]

Cortège Catastrophe gave her gum one last pop before disposing of it in its original wrapper and tossing it in the nearby trash bin. Stylishly dressed in her pink and black Portrait-collar ponté-knit jacket and pencil skirt, she sat calmly in a vacant room at Heighworth. Her long manicured pink nails drummed on the top of a jet black notebook, one she would use for keeping notes, two pencils wedged elegantly in an 'x' to hold her hair in a bun.

Cortège had left Jeff an email regarding her visit and the length of time it would take. Surely he had time to spare, especially for something so important. But then again, he could not show up--that'd give her plenty to think about.

Jeff really didn't have time to do this sort of interrogation crap, but it was needed to be done yet Jeff would have rather just sat in the library and continue his studying and get good grades. His recent email was about his ex-girlfriend's death and directions to meet a required interrogation from some wanna-be detective. He hoped she wouldn't waste his time and walked into the room.

"...What do you want?" He asked with hesitation and avoided eye-contact.

When Jeff entered, and with such a warm greeting, Cortège all most felt the need to ask him where that "dorky, friendly" side of him went. Then again, that'd be gone given the situation. Cortège stood and did a little bow.

"Please to finally make your acquaintence, Sir Doberman. You know me over the email I sent you, so introductions are not needed." She waved a hand to the chair adjacent of her before sitting back down. "As to what I want?" she smirked. "What any hard working, good detective wants: answers. You might have access to some." Cortège laughed. "But please, don't read into that as me saying you are the killer. We don't want to jump to conclusions. Wouldn't be... professional."

Echo had mentally prepared himself to meet some sort of asshole. Jeff didn't exactly come across as the 'amiable' type in his e-mail; for someone dealing with the loss of a recent ex-girlfriend, he had plenty of time to be curt and frankly, a jackass. He'd heard sometimes such was the reaction one had in a time of particularly prominent grief... but Echo had the feeling that it went farther than that in this case.

Casting his eyes about the school-grounds, he waited for any sight of the aforementioned student, smoking a cigarette and idly playing with his notepad in his free hand. Fuck, but he hated schools.

Jeff walked until he saw some kid that was smoking as though it was cool but it was gross and he just wanted to walk past him but this bullshit was needed to solve his ex-girlfriend's case, whatever. He stopped in front of Echo, avoiding eye-contact and folded his arms against his chest.

"...so...you're Ethan?" He asked in a snobbish manner.

"Yeah," he replied, straightening as he put out his cigarette underfoot. He eyed the kid once-over; as he'd expected. Jeff was already on the defense and he hadn't so much as uttered a question. Offering out a hand in greeting, he gave the other a scrutinizing look accompanied by a smile. "Wish we could've met under different circumstances. Sorry for your loss."
