Sherlock S3 expectations

Inspired by the previous, I suddenly thought of a discussion question.

I know we've already discussed it somewhere, several times, but now the times is getting closer, and they have actually started filming (!!) I thought we could do it again?

What do you want from series 3, and what do you realistically expect to happen?I mean, I think we all

I want a hug more than I want a punch... When I think about it, I don't really need any punch, but of course I wouldn't mind.

I want no Mary at least in the first episode. Things will be enough complicated even without her.

I want Charles Augustus Milverton happen. And I want it to happen in Mark's episode, i.e. the first one.

I want Moriarty to be dead. For good.

I don't want to be in Reichen-similar state after the third ep and/or for another 2+ years....

And I want million other things, but these are the most important for me. Of course, I'm not getting my hopes up and would be happy/surprised if more than one thing, which I've mentioned, actually happened :p

I totally agree about Mary, besides, she has her own story. I'd LOVE to see the Charles Augustus Milverton story! Mark would probably be best for that one.

I do think they're losing fans, enthusiasm at least, with the cliffhangers followed by the long wait.

Agreed with both of you on Milverton.

Keeping the interest going is very hard if they leave three years between air dates. So much else has come out now...Ripper Street and Vikings are both very hot and everyone is talking about those. And Ripper Street will return next year, no long wait. I understand about the commitments that everyone has including Moffat with Dr. Who but...hopefully S4 won't be that long a wait!

I wouldn't put my money on that. IF we get S4, it will be loooong time to wait for it.

And yes. My interest is really shifting and I'm considering myself a pretty hardcore fan. Also, the fanfic helps to keep the interest going. But imagine those poor people who ONLY consume what is served in the TV. They already must have forgotten what the show was even about :P That's just...sad.

Well, the punch is probably a given, the snog, less so, LOL.

What I REALLY want to see is some good old fashioned sleuthing, based on some of the canon material but updated with the 21st technology that Sherlock loves.

I would like to see them get out of London at least once this season as they did last season. I would like to see Sherlock behind the wheel again.

I would like to see lots of Sherlock and John squabbling over who buys the milk.

I would like to see John employed in a full time position.

I want a season finale I can live comfortably with for the next however many years.

No, I want to see him BE a doctor again. I suppose it might be tough for him to go running off with Sherlock if he was employed but I am guessing that while Sherlock is gone he may have gotten a job working in a hospital trauma unit or something. Watson did have a practice when he moved out of Holme's rooms in the stories...

Yeah, I agree about Mary. In fact, I don't want to get overly bogged down in that yet. Sherlock has to regain his reputation, and get things settled with John. I would like to see her show up perhaps...later. Whatever incarnation she is.

Oh, don't apologize! That's exactly what are these posts about. I'm thrilled to see an actual discussion going on this time :)

I see we are all on the same page with the hug and/or punch thing or any stronger reaction actually. Let's just hope that will happen. But I have a hope and faith in Mark.

Interesting idea that Sherlock should be the one doing the hugging! Hasn't occured to me, but it totally makes sense and I'd love to see that! Like Sherlock trying to calm John down and not sure what to do exacly when nothing else what his mind supplied has helped...and then bam! he decides to try this, because hugs are supposed to be calming, right? Awww... The feels! I might have to write a short fic about this (and I never write! lol).

On the other hand, if we are really going to see a hug, I don't care too much who will be the one providing it.

Can you please point me to the Three Garridebs fic? I always like to read such stuff :)

Funny thing, it's one of those stories I'd actually never read from canon, so it was a new one to me. After having read both, I really wish it was one they'd managed to get to in the Jeremy Brett series. ;o)

Actually I don't want John to punch Sherlock. For the lolz I want John to faint when he sees Sherlock, then it turns out it was because he hasn't eaten in a while or something.

I want to see flashback of Jim. And I want some want MorMor, not necessarily of the sexy/romantic sort.

Oh god, I had a list for what I want to happen, but it got lost when my external hard drive died.

Ah yes, I want to see Harry. I want more Anthea.

I love your wishes. Oh, MorMor! While I want Moriarty to be dead, I wouldn't be opposed to some flashback or something. Or seeing Moran fighting for his boss/hero/whatever.

I don't think that John would actually faint, but your explanation would be priceless. I'm also not that keen on the punch, but I'm clinging to hope that we will at least get some deeper physical reaction. Be it hug or punch, preferably both or just the hug after some swearing and anger.
