Sherlock S3 expectations

Mar 22, 2013 20:35

Inspired by the previous, I suddenly thought of a discussion question.

I know we've already discussed it somewhere, several times, but now the times is getting closer, and they have actually started filming (!!) I thought we could do it again?

What do you want from series 3, and what do you realistically expect to happen?I mean, I think we all ( Read more... )

I want a hug more than I want a punch... When I think about it, I don't really need any punch, but of course I wouldn't mind.

I want no Mary at least in the first episode. Things will be enough complicated even without her.

I want Charles Augustus Milverton happen. And I want it to happen in Mark's episode, i.e. the first one.

I want Moriarty to be dead. For good.

I don't want to be in Reichen-similar state after the third ep and/or for another 2+ years....

And I want million other things, but these are the most important for me. Of course, I'm not getting my hopes up and would be happy/surprised if more than one thing, which I've mentioned, actually happened :p

I'd love a hug as well!
I totally agree about Mary, besides, she has her own story. I'd LOVE to see the Charles Augustus Milverton story! Mark would probably be best for that one.

I do think they're losing fans, enthusiasm at least, with the cliffhangers followed by the long wait.

Agreed with both of you on Milverton.

Keeping the interest going is very hard if they leave three years between air dates. So much else has come out now...Ripper Street and Vikings are both very hot and everyone is talking about those. And Ripper Street will return next year, no long wait. I understand about the commitments that everyone has including Moffat with Dr. Who but...hopefully S4 won't be that long a wait!

I wouldn't put my money on that. IF we get S4, it will be loooong time to wait for it.

And yes. My interest is really shifting and I'm considering myself a pretty hardcore fan. Also, the fanfic helps to keep the interest going. But imagine those poor people who ONLY consume what is served in the TV. They already must have forgotten what the show was even about :P That's just...sad.

Part of the problem is that we have only 6 films. And I am not that enthused about S2. Yeah, there is a lot to write fics about but after all this time, how much more can people write? Discuss? I mean, we have discussion here finally because we are speculating about what might be done but we can only go so far with that-untl we actually have episodes.

And given the weirdnesses that US ISP providers are engaging in with downloads, I may have to wait for DVDs! So...!

I am a pretty hardcore Sherlock fan, too, but Ragnar has my heart right now...

Yeah, S2 was far from the perfect-ness of the first. Good, but not breathtaking. Well, okay, the Fall was pretty cool, IF ONLY it was followed directly by Empty (or much sooner than what we will get..)

The fics are running out of plots to use, yeah. Fortunately, there'll be always something to write, but new material is a new material.

I watched some of Fall...once. Seriously, I don't intend to watch it fully until I know I have the first episode of S3 in hand.

What we really need are some new Sherlock-isms. New things for him to flail over. New characters and situations to annoy him.

You really haven't watched the Fall in full yet? Wow. Have my admiration. I wish I was that strong, because then I would actually enjoy the ep and the following one.

Yeah. I'm amazed that one week of shooting is gone and nothing leaked! I don't want any too spoilery spoilers (hehe), but to see an innocent photo, for example both of them in their costume/makeup that would raise my spirits.

No, I have sort of gone through it-once. Sort of. For the reasons you state. If I watched it then and there I would have had to wait how long or resolution? I decided I would flip through parts of it, and then leave it sit until the concluding episode was in hand.

Once they get out of the studio, I suspect Tumblr will be full of spoilery photos. We have seen some cool stuff from official sources, though.

Do you think they've been in the studio, i.e. basically in 221B for the whole week? Not that I don't approve :p But it usually took 2-3 days per ep.

I'm so envious that they know already!

Don't they have to do read throughs and things like that? I would imagine day one is that and then they start doing serious stuff as the week goes on. They have the entire set done now so I expect they have been shooting in the studio for now. And Mark did tweet he was going to Cardiff, didn't he?

Hmm... I thought that the read-throughs were last week? Starting with the photo of Benedict/Martin + grapes. So this week it was suppesed to be the actual filming already, I guess.

And yes, they are in Cardiff, but they've done exterior shooting in Cardiff last time as well. Though, probably now they are doing the interiors first, hence no fan-material.

Oh yeah, that was last week. My sense of time these days...

We would have seen something had they been outside. Someone would have seen something. I remember the last time, there was stuff all over Tumblr. And Twitter would be active. Yeah, they do location shooting in Cardiff but I don't think they did it yet.

People will track them down when they are on location. We can count on that. I am very excited about it.

I'm both excited and conflicted, because the more onlookers on the set, the less happy the crew and actors would be. And I don't want them to be nervous/angry, even if I want to see some pics.

They will most likely keep things as locked down as possible so avoid this. I mean, at some point, they will come out of the studio and they will film on location, hopefully there will be good security to keep people at bay.

But, I expect that filming outside of 221B and Speedys will bring out the fans. This is to be expected and hopefully, they will be prepared for it.

Yep, let's hope they are prepared. Still it must be terrible to work under so much 'pressure' when they are out in the streets. They have to adore the lock-able studio set :p
