that my brothers-in-law have a copy of Go the Fuck to Sleep, and not only is it HILARIOUS, I love the way the rhythm scheme disintegrates as the book goes on. There are some lines in it that I'll be quoting for weeks.

I couldn't march, I was wrassling triplets
My brothers in law are wonderful people, and wow, are they amazing dads! I mean, it helps that their kids are well-behaved and sunny-tempered (although one kid did have a screaming meltdown at afternoon nap time today), but I'm so impressed with how in synch and in tune the dads are. Last night as I was putting the finishing touches on dinner, Geoff offered to light a fire. When Geoff and I were in Sicily and then in Italy, we ate a ton of pasta. Because, duh! And every now and then Geoff would start fantasizing aloud about getting a pasta machine and making our own fresh pasta. ( Because yum! ) -

I met with my spiritual director this morning, and we spent a lot of time talking about the guilt I feel for not doing more to resist and oppose the unbelievable wave of toxicity and threat that is sweeping over the US.
