Unfortunately, given that the fault wasn't reported until after 5pm on Friday, 'end of the next working day' is still seven hours away. And even if they do delay until tomorrow, they only owe me $14.50 - and that's if I go through the hassle of all the procedures required to claim it.

I might call them up early this afternoon and mention it, though.

The fine is the least of it - if a carrier gets too high a proportion of valid TIO complaints, they are at risk of being deregistered as a Telco. That's why they take the threat seriously - assuming you have a valid complaint.

Basically that standard is the "acceptable line" as far as a consumer telco service is concerned, so yes, missing out until Tuesday afternoon because you called after Friday afternoon is, unfortunately, Just Tough Luck. :-/

OTOH, if the service is not online by Tuesday close-of-business, you have a pretty clear cut valid TIO complaint.

Fair enough. Although the phone appears to be working now, so presumably someone somewhere is aware of the relevant documentation.
