And with projectors getting smaller and cheaper recently, it might even be possible to bundle a projector, webcams, connection frame, player pieces, the table top itself (and maybe a support or some legs) and a software pack together in a single supply-your-own-PC/laptop kit. Throw in downloadable up-to-date dungeons and it could be a product.
Even better - because the pieces are machine-movable, and everything else is virtual, it would allow people and whole groups to tabletop with each other collaboratively over the internet. Use headsets for the whole gaming experience. It could even be tied into completely onscreen versions for people who don't have room for the physical table.
Sounds like this is something you're really into isn't it? Also sounds like something you can get people from all over the world into table top gaming who might not be able get into it.

I've been working all year on a framework that generates all kind of games that role DM can imagine in a Reactable. It's not an speculation, from now on it's real.
Take a look to the video i've recorded last month from the project:

Not that I don't appreciate the update, but creating an LJ account purely to spam personal achievements to vaguely-related year-old comments? Comes across as slightly creepy/desperate.
Might have been a better idea to simply let Digg or Slashdot find it.

Ok, sorry! When I was searching for documents for the project I found this thread, and I found it interesting. I've developed something similar to what is exposed in this thread:

"I wonder if anyone's thought of combining this DM-controllable dungeon projector:
http://www.penpaperpixel.org/tutorials/tabletopprojection/
with the Reactable -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReacTable
and the computer-movable magnetic pieces found in the more expensive computerised chess sets?"
and I just wanted you to know that exists. I appologise for the previous post. I just wanted to colaborate.
