Other stuff that needs inventing?

Huh. Looks like the Autofit bra is a popular concept. Is there anything else that needs to be invented? Examples:
- women's clothing with more pockets
- clothing price parity for men's and women's stuff
- plushie Hasbro characters
- car engines that lift themselves out of the car so they can be worked on more easily ( Read more... )

...women's clothing with more pockets

This one always boggles me.

It's one of those weird little m/f disjoints. I consider pockets one of the primary reasons to have pants - pants without pockets are unthinkable.

But women I know have a really hard time getting pants with pockets.

Why this should be astounds and amazes me - pockets are so ... fundamental to pants!

((I'm too lazy to log out. It's Seiber))

Our pockets are tiny! It's not fair.

I said recently: "So only buy pants with pockets! They'll get the idea!"
To which the reply was, "You don't understand! I *can't* buy pants with pockets!"

- plushie Hasbro characters

ENTHUSIASTICALLY SECONDED! :D :D :D :D (Predictable, me? Naaah.)

The problem with pants with pockets for women is it does odd things to our hips. Plus our wallets are HUGE.

Hmph, I just buy the guy pants. Problem is finding my size.

Here's an easier one to fix/invent: A Consistant sizing system for women's and baby clothing. How can I be a medium, a large, an 11 and a 33 all at the same time. My daughter has shorts that say 24months that still fit and she's 4. Shoes are the same. The sizes seem to change "size" over the past 20 years. In high school I was a 9, university a 7 and now I'm a 9 again.

Guy clothes don't have that problem.

Hmm, plushie Lambos...

I second that about consistent sizing in women's clothes and shoes. I was a size ten shoe for my entire teenage years/early twenties, and them, one day I was an 11 and now I am a solid 12. Try getting nice shoes in a 12 - or even a decent pair of boots! And clothes! I have in my wardrobe, right now, a size 16 denim skirt, a couple of smalls, multiple 18's, a few mediums, some larges, a number of XL and XXL's, more 20's, a handful of 22's and one or two 24's. And one 3XL jumper. The waist/hip/bust specifications are all different, yet they all measure very close to the same measurment!!!! *shakes head*

And the last time I saw black work pants with even one small pocket for keys was in the menswear department, and certainly not in my size...

Self-lifting engines are a bad idea. Even if it's a manual system or cleverly uses gearing to very slowly lift the engine using a small motor, just the braceworks required would add a lot of weight to the car.

Making fender panels that could be removed without weakening the frame too much might work better, so you can get in from the side. Or even a hinged radiator.

I'd settle for the wider introduction of the three-stage leg-length thing that Target had going with its trousers a while ago. For the first time *ever*, I could buy jeans without having to worry about whether or not they would need to be rolled up. It can't be that difficult to admit that women come in at least "short", "medium" and "tall", and tailor pant leg lengths to suit. Heck, I'd even settle for the possibility of *ordering in* the shorter length, if I could be certain I'd get it.

And if the shorter length was short enough not to need to be rolled or hemmed, yes. Ording in is no more hassle than getting things hemmed, and is cheaper.
