So I’m glad Romney’s comments to wealthy millionaire donors are getting some attention, because it’s finally out in the open what the ruling classes really thing of the rest of us.This is what the ruling class says behind closed doors. It does sound like they want to be the Spartiates to our Helots. What they forget is that Sparta did not do very well with such a system and that system itself was extremely and deeply flawed. Likewise their focus on the idea that they exist independent of society is where they sow the wind to reap the whirlwind. If a class considers itself independent of society, eventually society will consider itself independent of them.

What frightens me is the sheer efficacy of propaganda. What if it's now possible to brainwash people so totally that they're basically meat robots? Goebbels was pretty good at this - there exists an infamous vidclip, taken at the height of WW2, in which the Nazis got the Germans - who were being bombed shitless - to bray and clap for "total war" like wild animals. Look at this shit: Ranks and ranks of people turned into automatons - zombies - robots made out of meat by the sheer power of propaganda.

How much better can the ruling class do now, when their lies are so much more ubiquitous?
