Ugh. I clicked the wrong button in your last question. I meant to vote "not in the least," not "yes, completely." To be honest, this has felt like one big long recession over the past several years.

I hear ya. I think you can go back and change your answer, yes?

Thanks to sophiaserpentia 's link, I changed it. Otherwise I would not have known where to go to change it.

I stopped driving in 2001.

I have no way to "prepare" for a further recession other than taking my vitamins so I can work longer hours with fewer days off.

Back in 1998, I drove a car, took 2 days off each week, ate in a sit-down restaurant at least once a week. Now I eat out once or twice a year, buy non-perishable foods and vitamins on-line rather than locally, have not been to a movie theater since 2002.

What's so horrible about 2 days off each week and the rest of the time working and/or stuck in traffic. I thought that was the American dream, man?

"What's so horrible about 2 days off each week and the rest of the time working and/or stuck in traffic. I thought that was the American dream, man?" *snicker*

I don't have a car but the price of fuel, as you know, drives up the cost of everything else.

What, no option for "I don't drive?"

Yeah, none of these options affect me directly because I don't drive.

Yeah, I need to remember to include a N/A option in polls like these - I often do, just sometimes forget.

As about 75 - 80% of my driving is unavoidable, I'm not really able to change much.

I guess I'll be giving up off-roading if it does get that high.

So much of mine is basically unavoidable, too.. although, there are ways I can cut off a few miles here or there and would be sure to do that.

Seriously. Yet another period of massive job cuts would be really disheartening at this point.
