Not surprising in a state who chose via the wisdom of the masses to create a wonderful welfare system and then refused to pay a dime for it.

bUT... but I thought that not having any benefits incentivised the poor not to be poor and to get high-paying jobs.

Instead, leaving the workless without a safety net causes horrific poverty! Well, who'da thunk it?
