How can it possibly be so difficult for them to comprehend that only the people at the top are thriving right now, and them only because they got massively bailed out?

I share both sides in this community when the arguments are cogent. Which is also why I agree with many of your opinions, even if I challenge them from time to time.

I try. Obviously, I still have biases. For months I openly questioned the end of the recession. Now I simply concede that the recession is probably technically over, and a recovery of sorts has begun - for the select few.

That first poll sucks by prevaricating. It doesn't give people the option of saying "It won't recover, not like it was, ever."

Respondees are forced to the fifth option of "I dunno," even when they may have a definite opinion.
