Summary: John's not surprised that Rodney freaked out.
When John woke up he reached out, searching for the body he’d fallen asleep with the night before. But all he found was air. Opening his eyes, he saw that yes, Rodney had disappeared. He had feared this would happen, that Rodney would freak out and that he’d have to go run interference before it got out of hand. However, as he climbed out of bed, he found a small post it stuck to his ear piece. All it said was ‘BRB’ with a small heart drawn in the corner.
John had no idea what the hell ‘BRB’ meant, so he decided to go find out. However, just as he pulled on his underwear, the door to his room opened and in walked Rodney, carrying a tray laden with food.
“Why are you up?” Rodney asked.
“I was coming to look for you.”
“I said I’d be right back,” Rodney said, gesturing with his head to the post it now sitting on John’s bed.
Realising now what ‘BRB’ meant, John felt a little stupid and sat back down on the bed, “So you weren’t freaking out?”
“No,” Rodney told him, a small smile tugging on his lips as he made his way back over to John. “I was getting us breakfast.”
“Oh,” John said as he watched Rodney put the tray of pancakes and eggs down on the night stand and sat next to him on the bed.
“You’re kind of an idiot,” Rodney told him as he leaned in for a quick kiss. “But the lack of clothing makes up for it.”
John smiled and allowed Rodney to push him back down onto the bed, their breakfast soon forgotten about.
