Oh, I love our backstory for Dean, that he lost his voice at stressful intervals, makes him even more vulnerable. And what a perfect person for wee!Dean to meet.

Aww thank you, BB, and yes, poor sweet vulnerable baby!Dean, I don't think John would have been much help in the thoughts and feelings department. And yeah, I don't know I just when I thought of imaginary friends in relation to Dean, I was like what if it was a little girl, his teacher thinks it's an imaginary friend, John figures out it's a ghost, and yeah. heh ♥♥

Thank you, my lovely, I was trying to think of what kind of imaginary friend Dean could have, my first thought was a little girl, which immediately became ghost!girl. Just a sweet little ghost girl who likes to befriend lonely children, and I had like a flash of a teary wee!Dean saying to John, "You killed my friend."

so like:

“What’s the matter, kiddo?”

"You killed my friend."

"Dean. She was a ghost. You can't be friends with a ghost, son. She would have hurt you, or someone else eventually. I had to put her to rest."

Tears running down Dean's cheeks, because Sally was a good ghost, and he knows she would never have hurt him. And he wants to yell it at his Dad, but he doesn't want John yelling at him. Dean drops his father’s gaze, he wasn’t going to look at him anymore.

"Go play with your brother."

Dean stamps his feet as he storms off.

heh and re: the backstory, Sammy is always the one Dean will come back for :) whether that be physically or emotionally ♥♥

O.o lovely addition. And it forced Dean to speak. I adore innocent, silent Dean. So much inside going on inside that little body. And this Dean innocently could see the grey areas, that everything was not good or evil. Canon has been mucked with so often, but there has to have been examples of ghosts who don't go darkside?

Thank you, so much!! And yes, this time the injustice of it pushed him, but well also his hurt and grief and how lonely the day felt when Sally wasn't there. And well this is before John teaches Dean how to shoot, before he gives Dean the responsibility of keeping Sammy alive and safe. Before he starts to be shaped into the perfect little soldier/hunter. I think Dean would have definitely have felt things intuitively, been able to see what John, and quite a lot of adults, can't ( ... )
