Seriously, I think this is a stunt. At least, I seriously hope that it is. She looks like a mail order bride, for one. Secondly, he is such a drama queen, I am hoping he doesn't mean this is the end of his touring. Maybe he will just put out music as just himself instead of NIN?

On her Twitter she's made references to an engagement ring and getting an "OK" from her parents. MY HEART, IT SINKS. D:

There are rumors going around that Year Zero is going to be turned into a TV miniseries, so there's a possibility that he's just taking a break from music to work on that project. I sure hope that's the real reason. :O

Well, the "going away for awhile" bit came before they met (and then immediately got engaged, wtf?), so I don't think one has anything to do with the other. Though it might now. I think he was just tired and needed a recharge, but now that he's getting married (I feel weird just typing that, lulz), he might be wanting to take more time off.

Also, that clip of Santino is one of my favorite things in the known universe.

My mind is seriously working itself into pretzels trying to make this whole thing make sense. At one point I thought "Maybe Trent decided that he wanted to stop NIN for a while so he can find a wife and have kids, since he's getting on in years and might be panicking about his age...and this girl just fell in his lap (literally)!"

...and then I realized how stupid that was, and I had to mentally slap myself.

That's the thing. It doesn't make sense and it's not gonna make sense. But I do think you've hit the nail right on the head when you "Trent's getting on in years..." I think that's the point right there. I think that's what all this is about.

So, yeah. I don't think that's stupid at all. Who knows what his original intention was when he decided to take a break, but now it does seem to have that middle-aged panic feel to it, no?

I think the community profile needs some sort of short mission statement as to why the comm exists (to get away from the SRS BSNS on nin.com, etc). Want me to write one up?

I'm really amazed that so many NIN fans are going "aww yay!" over this. I think they don't realize how short a time Trent & Q have been dating. O_o;;

Honestly, I woke up this morning and thought to myself, "Oh god, did I dream that crazy Trent engagement thing??" But alas, I didn't. ;_;
