(FANMIX) Star Trek: The Original Series - The Enterprise's Mission - There's Something about Blue

Apr 03, 2013 00:51

Coming over with another fanmix! This one is for the waywardmixes challenge #14: Journeys. As soon as I read the theme, the Enterprise started flying around my head, and I knew I had to try. This mix was surprisingly easy to organize! I suppose that, when you're not focusing on character specifics, it becomes easier. Hopefully it's an okay mix!

On to the Fanmix! )

OH YEAH! USS Enterprise! ♥

Love that you've included why that song is on the mix. Also like that you used The Ballad of Serenity. Very different mission that ship is on, but the SONG is so appropriate.

YEAH Enterprise!! *high five*

Thank you! I didn't want to talk too much about the songs 'cause sometimes less is more, but I thought I should at least explain why I chose them... I thought the end result wound up all over the place, but I really did try.

And, yeah, a person can't think space travel and not remember The Ballad of Serenity, and I think that, while Firefly and Star Trek have very different premises, they both have something of that Space Western feel. That's why I think the song fits both shows \o/

Thank you for leaving a comment, I'm really really happy!

This is a very interesting mix. The eclectic song choices of Disney, rock and J-Pop kept me guessing which way the mix was going to go next. Thank you, I really enjoyed it.

Thanks! I guess the mix wound up all over the place... I was thinking more of how well the lyrics fit than the music itself, and, when I realized, I had Disney, country songs, hard rock, Japanese songs and David Bowie (who belongs on a category of his own) in the mix. I realized that only when I had posted it already, so it was too late to make it more consistent... But I did like the end result, and I'm glad at least someone liked it too!
