This and that

Several thigns been going on over the last several days. Went to an ENT today to have my hearing checked. I've noticed over the last 2-3 years that if I'm in a crowded room with a lot of background noise, I have trouble hearing people who are standing directly in front of my talking to me (and it's even worse if we're around a dinner table and ( Read more... )

Wow I miss biking, and that mchanic can kiss my ass. I outraced a guy who did la tour de france once when I was in high school on the most beat up piece of shit ten speed you ever saw :P I could ride around an entire block no handed on that thing too :P

Tell bear I said early happy birthday, and didn't know if you saw the post, but I got my sockses and arm warmers! The arm armers were a great suprise, I actually have sort of an outfit (skir and blouse and boots) thtat those would be fun as hell to wear places and mess with people, if I ever go anywhere :)

The arm wearmers are great for reading in bed too, because I'm not constantly sticing my arms under the covers because my elbows got cold :)

Thank you Ting!

*laugh* Yeah, we had to giggle with that mechanic. He was so determined he was going to sell us racing bikes... I think we should be fine practicing with the ones we have. As for riding around the block no-handed, I marvel at your ability, Rhi! I've *never* been able to get the hang of doing that!

I'll be sure to tell Bear happy b'day for you. Since we're so new down here, I think it's going to be a quiet one. At least we're together for his b'day though... It was odd being completely alone during mine this year (the "kids" were in Florida w/Bear), however I made the best of it by celebrating w/cake and champaign. :D

Glad to hear you got the arm warmers and socks!! I do so hope they help to keep you warm!!

I wonder how I'd do on those tests because I really have some crazy hearing. I can hear bugs walking.

Did you go to the one on Fletcher heading toward USF? If so I'm surpriesed they were jerks. I had some work done on my $70 bike from Target and am very happy with it, apart from the color which I intend to fix one day myself. Chris and I like mountain bikes because we like off road stuff and being with nature.

Happy birthday to Bear. Chris was yesterday. They were almost Halloween babies. So close.

You probably would do fantastic, Des! Highly above normal! :)

The bike shop we went to was the one that was just slighly north of us on Dale Mabry. My bike is more of a mountain bike than a racing bike, which I think caused some of the comments from the mechanic (ie "you're well below entry level with this bike and you're not going to enjoy the training"). Seriously, I think that it's just too early right now to make the determination of whether it's a bad fit for me in training for I haven't started training yet. I might get the name of the shop you went to if it appears that we really will need work on our bikes..

Hey, wish Chris a Happy Birthday (a little late) from us as well! Hopefully he enjoyed his birthday.. Bear's parents will be coming in on Thursday, which is his birthday..day after Halloween.. He likes to consider himself a "Halloween leftover".
