I love the little details in this. You build up the history of the 'verse around the edges: the fall of Ba Sing Se, the rescue of Long Feng, the breaking of his hip, the finding of Ursa.

I like the brief bit between How and Long Feng about what exactly happened to give him that limp. The plain, cool way of speaking of it makes an interesting contrast when you know exactly how his hip was broken. I really like the detail of the way How is used to Long Feng walking, and not quite believing he was a 'bender because of the way he glided. That's gone now, isn't it.

Like the detail of an earthbender's power being tied to their physical strength in most cases. Very nifty-keen.

This would be an issue, an issue How would have to actively work on to keep the Director's sanity. The director is too valuable as an ally.
