My feelings on Scandal, let me show you them

I am really enjoying Scandal right now. I watch an episode with my lunch a couple of times a week, and it is awesome on so many levels.

Ditto, except I'm fine with Fitz's manpain because I feel like the show is deconstructing it - i.e., no matter how much pain he feels, there's a level of "e-fucking-nough" about it when you see how he diverts focus from the women surrounding it. It's fantastic.

Hmm, ok, maybe there's more of that coming up. I'm on season 2 ep 7 [Spoiler (click to open)](and I think Fitz has just been shot, but it wasn't hella clear). There has been a bit of Cyrus complaining about what a baby Fitz is being, but it hasn't yet reached the point where I feel like that's a deconstruction of the manpain thing. But HOMG I love this show so much. It excites me in a way visual media hasn't in a long, long time. I am almost bracing myself for future disappointment, but right now? Totally awesome.

I, like a lot of people, was really unhappy with a particular development in the latest episode - although the show so far hasn't lost its capacity to rivet. I think as you keep watching you will definitely see the deconstruction of the manpain. It's really the defining characteristic of the show.
