Damn baby propaganda
It seem as if the media is really pushing white people to procreate lately.  Everywhere I look there's some kind of panic about "the numbers" as if there's some unspoken contest.  This kind of attitude, I think, places too much emphasis on the tribe over the species.  It comes with a lot of nasty assumptions about "others," and ( Read more... )

I was very excited about that Last Author Standing thing for a moment, because it sounded like a really cool idea - until I realized it was only for fan fiction. *sigh*

I really wish there existed anything like the level of community and activity online for original fiction that there is for fan fiction. I keep trying with Thousand Cats, but it seems like I'm usually the only one who posts stuff there - occasionally 50_ft_queenie, and once tamago23, but for the most part it feels like playing to an empty room, and that's meant that it hasn't been as successful in helping me motivate myself to write more as I'd hoped. I don't know, maybe I just need to promote it more, try and pull in more people or something... Or maybe there are other resources out there for original fiction that I just haven't found yet ( ... )

*smiles* Your confidence is underwhelming hon. But I guess I deserve that. Much obliged for the missings in gaming, and the missings in general. I do have to say, ye GODS do I miss gaming!

Well, from the perspective of your friends, it's been kind of a roller coaster ride - it can be frustrating when someone has a lot of good qualities counterbalanced by a lot of not-so-good ones, and which set are in the ascendant at any given time seems to swing back and forth like a pendulum.

Doesn't mean I've given up hope that maybe the good side might eventually win out, though. And like I said - you've been missed. :-)

I think everyone needs both their good and evil sides. When good Superman and evil Superman fight in Superman III, Good doesn't just destroy evil; they merge. Although based on Star Trek's Mirror, Mirror episode, where they meet Evil Spock and the others, I think having the good side dominate (even if only slightly) is preferable.
