My 1997 Toyota may be ready to move on. I had to start holding it together with duct tape this morning. Yesterday, while I was out running errands, a noise began, which sounded like something beating against the firewall right behind the glove box. It wasn't constant; just occurred at certain speeds and not for the same period of time each

It's the problems that CAN'T be fixed with duct tape that you should worry about. Engine/transmission good? Not rusting out? Keep rolling.
