Date: September 24th, 2011 Characters: Kudzu Emory, Chris Pho Location: Apricot Condos Status: Private Summary: Kudzu invites Chris over for lunch at his current job site. Completion: Incomplete
Since they were meeting a job site, Chris had packed up a bag with utensils, plates, and their lunch. He had finally decided to go for something filling but easy to make, so he'd prepared a linguini with chicken, zucchini, and bell peppers. He'd added a little spice to the pasta dish because he and Kudzu liked their food that way. There were a couple bottles of water and slices of cheesecake, too, to complete the meal.
Chris had also brought along a small container with leftovers so Kudzu could take it home with him. Who knew how his friend ate when left to his own devices? Besides, there was enough remaining because Chris always made too much.
When he arrived at the location Kudzu had given him, he looked around curiously. He was hoping lunch would be good enough that Kudzu let him destroy a few things. It might be odd to be excited about that, but Chris had never claimed to be normal.
Kudzu leaned out the window when he spotted Chris,
"Hey stranger!" He grinned, stubbing out the butt in his ashtray. "Door's unlocked, come on up. I'll get our table ready."
The little fold up card table and chairs traveled with him to condo to condo. He'd gotten sick of eating on the floor or leaning against the wall and figured it was easy enough to throw the light plastic things into his truck at the end of the day. He unfolded them all now and ran a Lysol wipe over everything to get rid of the sawdust.
Chris looked up when he heard Kudzu and smiled slightly before nodding. "Okay. I'll be right up." He opened the door and entered the building. It was obvious why Kudzu had been hired. The place needed some work. When he got upstairs, he found Kudzu. "I have food. Hope you're hungry."
The place was still in a state of advanced awful. The walls were torn out, the floor only intact in enough places for Kudzu to get back and forth. He picked the path with more care than usual to show Chris how to get to the table without stepping into the rotted mess.
"Starved, thanks for bringing it all this way." He gestured at his little table. "We can eat in style here, you see."
