Harley was damn glad to be working. Yesterday hadn't felt like much of a day off, considering she'd spent it in a room with too many lights and too much AC, leaning over a desk with too little space. Still. Four years of high school condensed into just one day...not a bad deal. Hopefully they'd get her results back quick and she'd have a diploma hot in her hands. 'General Education'. Weird the things they thought you needed to know. Most of the shit on that test she'd never used before.
She'd put in a full day so far, as the hot weather usually meant loads of car issues, but she was enjoying it. She was finishing up underneath a truck when she heard the familiar jingle of the front door. After wriggling out she wiped her hands, shrugged her short-sleeved Reen's shirt back on over her tank top, and walked out with a pad in hand, already starting on an invoice.
"Welcome to Reen's, how can we service you today?" She glanced up from her pad, and her mild customer-ready smile dropped. "Oh."
"Well, this is a pleasant surprise." He crossed his arms and looked her over. "We drank together right? Hailey...Hanna...No. Harley, that was it right?"
He gestured out into the parking lot.
"My car is having a spot of trouble. Think you have time to take a look at her?"
"Yeah, pleasant." She'd gotten drunk off her ass in front of him. So drunk she hadn't even been able to get herself home without calling Duck. She hated people seeing her when she was low.
Fucking carbombs.
"Got it in three," she said easily, playing like she wasn't embarrassed. "How you been, McSlick?"
She rounded the counter so she could take him back out. "Sure, there's always time for walk-ins. Let's see what you got."

"McSlick?" He laughed. "That's a good one. I'm fine, thanks. Working too hard, but making a lot of money while I'm doing it. How about you?"
