Maureen swished the curtain aside quickly at the knock. Charisma had stolen Layla away somewhere when she had mentioned Piers would be dropping by, saying that she deserved a little alone time with her 'boooooyfriend', causing Maureen to smack her little sister before chasing her and her daughter out of the house.

Seeing that it was Piers, Maureen opened the door, smiling softly and kissing him lightly on the cheek. "Well, hello there, stranger," she murmured. "Come on in. Lay and Rizzy took off for the evening so it's just us."

Piers returned the kiss before entering the house with the bags out. "Hi yourself. I brought dinner in hopes that you hadn't eaten yet." He told her with a smile as he followed her in. While he was glad to have some alone time with Maureen he hoped that him coming over hadn't been awkward or something.

"Is everything ok? I don't want them to feel they need to vanish if I'm coming over. This is their home."

"Mmm, nope, not yet. Was thinking we'd order pizza or something," Maureen told him. "So you bringing dinner works even better." She slid one of the bags out of his hand, tilting her head towards the kitchen. "Food, then I'll give you the grand tour now that we have it all set up?" He had helped them move but had never been back to see the finished product and she was kind of excited to hear his thoughts on the place ( ... )

"Sounds like a plan," Piers agreed with a grin. They walked hand in hand to the kitchen and started to unpack all the dishes that he had bought onto the counter as Maureen talked about Layla wanting to see a movie that had just come out. He felt less bad knowing why they had headed out.

"Well I hope they enjoy it and it's not like I mind some alone time with you." He rolled his eyes at her question but grinned. "You know I did. The case was a bitch but knowing I was missing out on time with you was worse. How have you been? Everything all wrapped up now?"

Maureen lay next to Piers after, breathing hard. Holy shit, it had never once been like that with Dustin. She gave a tiny mewl as she rolled over, shifting until she was tucked against him again, needing the contact. Her body felt heavy and sated and she could happily stay just like this and never move ever again, she realized.

She shifted, looking at him, before she inched up to kiss him slowly. "Mmmm." She pulled back to look at him, meeting his gaze. "That was... wow." Way to be articulate, Maureen. "I mean..." Shit, why had she started talking? "Wow. I didn't know it could be like that." Shut up, shut up, shut up. "Dustin ... yeah. Never like that." Embarrassed, she buried her head into his neck. Fuck, it was like once she opened her mouth, she couldn't stop.

Piers gave Maureen a sleepy grin as she tried to talk to him. He was kind of just too hazy to talk but thoroughly sated. "Yeah.... that was like wow. But you realize we both sound stoned right?"

He put his arm around her as she snuggled in and pulled her close as their kiss. Her next words surprised him though. "His loss then, sounds like you were married to a total idiot." Piers commented dryly but kept her close.

Maureen laughed a little, fingers lightly running up and down his arm as they talked quietly. "Wouldn't know, never been." She paused. "And I'll even attest to that in a court of law, Officer," she added, grinning.

Sighing, she shrugged. "A total idiot who wants Layla," she murmured. "I just. This summer was s'posed to be good. I got Lay, and Rizzie and you and it was s'posed to be fun and not ... drama-rama."

Joining her in the laughter Piers just shook his head. For a grown woman, Maureen was pretty sheltered even compared to him."Well I guess that's a good thing. Drugs are bad for you." He teased with a wink.

Squeezing Maureen's shoulder,Piers placed a kiss on her forehead.. "We'll have a good summer I promise. If you need to go to New York, maybe I can join you for a couple of days. There is more than enough PTO available for me to use."
