(Just a note: Brendon & Court will be in one response. For now - you have Court.)

Monday's during the off season were the complete opposite of their Tuesday and Saturday nights. It was slower than dirt and Courtney wondered for the umpteenth time, why Brendon had felt it necessary to have them both work on a day that didn't see much traffic until football season got under way. There was something up but she had yet to get it out of him. As it stood, Brendon was in the back office and she was out in the front with a half a dozen customers who were celebrating the death of Bin Laden in their own special way ( ... )

Leaning against the bar, Graham's easy grin didn't slip as he let his gaze travel over Courtney. Fuck, she looked amazing, and he was starting to wonder why the hell he had allowed himself to stay away for so long. "Hell has in fact not frozen over, and pigs haven't learned how to fly, darlin'." He replied as his gaze traveled back up to meet Courtney's. "Went to Mexico, huh? That one of the many rumors you started, Cory?"

He set the box of mint chocolate on the bar absentmindedly, or at least he was making it look that way. "Apparently I've also taken up a career as a clown, and joined a monastery." He laughed, watching Courtney for any kind of reaction. "And, really is this anyway to greet your favorite regular after so long? I was hoping for a hug, or maybe even a kiss." Graham drawled with a charming grin.

"Shame - I had been hoping for some ice skating lessons one day," she quipped. It took everything she had to not walk around the bar and hug him or kiss him. "I wouldn't call them so much as rumors as -- well, possible, likely scenarios?" Courtney shrugged.

Her attention was caught on the Andes mints sitting on the counter. They couldn't be for her, right? She had never told Graham how much she had a particular love for mint and chocolate. As far as she knew, Brendon hadn't either. "Again -- possible likely scenarios, right?" She gave him a grin, her eyes softening however - truly glad to see him back. It was now, six months later, that she realized how much she truly missed him and looked forward to his company at the bar. Not that she would admit as much right now but it was still the thought of the matter.

Courtney walked around the bar and over to the man. "Oh a hug or a kiss, hm?" she mused as she got closer. "And who says you're my favorite anyway?"

"Skating lessons? I'm sure those could still be arranged." He shot back easily. An idea forming that maybe he'd take her Ice skating once he finally got her to agree to date. "Really, Cory? Likely scenarios? You've know me long enough to know I wouldn't go joinin' a monastery anytime soon." Graham remarked ( ... )

Graham quirked an eyebrow at the look Brendon was giving him. "What the hell is that look for, Fitz?" He asked bluntly. He kept his thoughts on Shosh and Brendon doing anything together to himself, the idea was just a little to scary to really think about. Brendon's next comment made him pause, though. So it was his reappearance that was making Courtney flustered, well now, that was a new development. "Subtle Fitz, real subtle." Graham drawled, clearly understanding what his friend was hinting at. But now what did he do with that information?

As he sat at the bar, hadn't touched his pizza or said much of anything while he pondered what Brendon had just told him. Glancing at his friend, he figured Brendon knew Courtney best, so after about five minutes of silence, he spoke. "Fitz, you know Cory best, if I were to follow her outside right now, would she kill me?" Graham wanted to find her, wanted to get everything out into the open.

"I was wondering if you were truly blind or if you were just full of crap," he returned just as bluntly. Brendon shook his head. Shosh and he got on well enough but that was it. One thing they truly had in common was they were tired of seeing these two run around each other. "As subtle as a freight train," he responded dryly with a smirk. He was glad he didn't have to get any more 'subtle' than that. Had to hand it to the man - he wasn't stupid.

Brendon leaned against the counter, twirling a toothpick around in his fingers before he raised an eyebrow. He had been waiting for the question. Actually he was surprised it had taken five minutes after Courtney left for him to ask. "No - I doubt she would kill you," he answered after considering it. Be embarrassed that Graham found her like he will? Probably. Scratch that. Most definitely.

“Well, you can stop wondering. I’m neither, which must be shocking, I know.” He replied with an easy grin. He wasn’t blind; he just wasn’t going to go assuming anything when it came to Courtney. “Yes, we’ve established that.” He remarked as he pushed up from the bar stool, pausing to lean against the bar as he weighed his options as to what he should do next, now that he was armed with more knowledge on the situation ( ... )

"It is a tad shocking, I'll admit," Brendon replied with an equal easy grin. He watched Graham mentally weigh his options. That was certainly new. Graham wasn't the type to just merely ponder. He was more...action oriented. "Good luck - you may need it." Brendon responded with a smirk, sticking the toothpick back into his mouth and watched him exit the Hawthorne ( ... )

Courtney shrugged her shoulders with a smirk. "Perhaps..." she trailed off. It had been a little creepy at first, she would admit but over time -- it was as though she had a bodyguard with the way he was watching her at times. A bodyguard that she was immensely attracted to and who perhaps flirted more times than not. Which then lead to fantasies she'd rather not share just yet ( ... )

Graham just shook his head, smiling faintly. "Really, Cory?" He had a hard time believing she actually thought he had been lying to her. So it would appear they had returned to a bit of their old banter, which he didn't mind so much. Now he could admit that sitting in the bar watching her work was creepy, but he would probably never fess up to the jealous streak he had whenever another guy would have the nerve to flirt with her. He wasn't possessive, and honestly jealousy wasn't something he felt often. Which just made him come to the realization sooner that what he felt for Courtney was much more then just a passing interest ( ... )

Courtney gave him a soft grin. "Okay, not really no. I lost track of the number of times I caught you watching me or the number of times a man asked me if you were my big brother watching over me to make sure my virtue was protected or even a few women asking if you were spoken for," she responded. She would never admit to the envious or jealous feeling she got when women asked if he had been available. There may have been some of the women she had told that he was already spoken for. She never specifically said it was by her but that was the conclusion she was sure some came to ( ... )

Graham let a lopsided grin pull at the corners of his mouth. “Now, see that’s more like it. I did have a tendency to do it a lot, huh? But protectin’ your virtue wasn’t really on my mind, well maybe protectin’ it from the likes of them. And what did you tell those women who inquired about my availability?” He replied. He maybe had an idea s to what she may have told them, being none of the women every approached him. But he wanted to hear Courtney admit to it, which he was kind of on the fence about if she actually would or not.

“Oh, maybe just a bit.” He answered with a smirk. “Nope, there’s not a box involved, only a bow.” Quirking a eyebrow suggestively, he wondered what kind of retort Courtney would have to his reply ( ... )
