It was honestly a frightful thought, the fact that Shosh had pretty much demanded he take Saturday off. Sure Graham wasn't above admitting he was quickly becoming a workaholic, but having Shosh point that fact out to him for the second time in nearly two weeks felt strange. She had marched into the barn office with a glare, fully ignoring his 'Hello, sunshine' greeting, hit the power off button on the computer and yanked him up and out of his chair wordlessly pointing towards his truck and making a shoeing motion ( ... )

Brendon looked looked up from the pad of paper and grinned when he spotted Graham walking over. "Well, well - I almost thought you had died and no one invited me to the funeral since I haven't seen you in so long," he said with a grin. He chuckled. "I have been avoiding karaoke nights like the plague. There are only so many times I can listen to drunken versions of 'I Will Survive' or 'Wannabe'. Thankfully for me, Courtney loves karaoke nights. How have you been, Graham?"

Graham laughed, shaking his head at Brendon's comment. "Nah, you're not that lucky, I'm still alive and kickin'." He remarked with a grin. "So want to explain to me why you're here if Courtney loves these nights, did you lose a bet or something?" Graham usually avoided coming out to the Hawthorne on Karaoke nights, but he had mistakenly forgotten that saturdays were always karaoke nights. "I've been okay, turnin' into a bit of a workaholic and baby-sittin' Shosh is always an adventure, but things are getting back to normal since Jacob's passin'. How've you been, Fitz?"

Brendon chuckled and shook his head. "Nah, I took Wednesday off to do something for a mate and get some errands done. In exchange, she wanted tonight off. So, here I am," he said, spreading his hands front of him.

"You know, I did hear this rumor that Mr. Playboy himself has been turning into more of a workaholic then a playboy," Brendon mused. "Just never thought it was actually true." Brendon got to work on Grahams customary drink and slid it over to him. "Glad to hear that things are getting back to normal. How is Shosh doing?"

Brendon took a drink from his water. "I've been doing very well. Getting away from the Hawthorne a little more. It appears that our roles have been reversed. You're becoming the workaholic and I'm becoming the one to take a little more time off," he mused with a grin. He couldn't help his thoughts going to Rico when he thought of getting out more often and experiencing new things.

Graham flashed an easy grin. "We can't have her expectin' things, she might stop puttin' up with our crap if she did." Graham just shrugged, smirking at Brendon's look. "Course I would, I never pass up a chance to place a bet on somethin'. And I don't doubt Court would enjoy it, and probably damn well deserves to knock you down a peg or two. So, more than anythin'? In that case at least I rank lower than you in her book."

He grimaced. "Some of 'em, I don't claim to be anythin' of the sort." He remarked, chuckling softly at the image of him and Courtney actually bickering down the aisle of a church. "Eh, first I have to get her to actually agree to a date, so they're jumpin' ahead of themselves just a bit."

Graham shrugged casually. "Why the hell do you think I still come here? I can always count on you to be brutally honest. So yeah, I'd say it's a pretty good arrangement." He quipped. "That's a glowing recommendation, 'we have good Coke products apparently.' A salesmen you are not, Fitz. But seein' as I still have to make it back ( ... )

"Exactly," Brendon said with a laugh. He rolled his eyes playfully. He had been knocked down a few pegs with what the last couple of months had brought him but he was picking himself back up. "Hmm, nah, I believe she mentioned that you rate the highest on her 'pain-in-the-ass' scale, though."

Brendon smirked. "Deep down inside, you are a huge marshmallow like every other rough cowboy in this place," he teased. He grinned at the thought of the two bickering even at a wedding or special event. "Yes, there is that. That in itself would be the hardest part. Convincing her that you are serious and not full of crap."

"This is why I am not a salesman, yeah? And why I did not make it in retail and yet despite it, I own a business," he mused teasingly. He grabbed a glass, filled it with ice before filling it with coke.

Graham just shook his head, chuckling. "Rating the highest just means I'm her favorite annoyance, not that she'll ever admit that." He took some pride in the fact that he rated on any of Courtney's lists or scales at all. Graham was pretty damn sure he'd been trying to get her to go with him for what felt like 100 years, in reality it was probably only a few, but at least he was leaving an impression ( ... )

"Of course she wouldn't admit it, because that means that she actually cares," Brendon responded with a laugh. He honestly couldn't wait to see what would happen when Courtney and Graham were reunited.

Brendon blinked and quirked his lips up in a smirk. "I do believe those were the words that came out of my mouth, yes." He chuckled and poured himself another glass of water before taking care of two drink orders as he responded. "Good - you need a woman who is immune to your charms. Can't have 'em easy all the time, yeah?" he asked, teasing. Part of what made him wonder about the man's feelings for Courtney was the fact that he continued to ask her out even after years of being turned down. He'd really have to see how this played out after the two had been apart for so long ( ... )
