Friday Afternoon: The Meeting

Apr 27, 2007 15:43

Rikku sat nervously, waiting for everyone to arrive. She hadn't managed much sleep the night before, but the warm-fuzzy-Jude-kitten in her lap was helping. A lot.

Once everyone got settled, Rikku took a deep breath and started talking.

Arrive, talk to the roomies and/or the cats. Ask what is going on. Chit-chat. Have a good time.

Luke knocked twice on the door, then poked his head in. "I got your message?"

Rikku hopped up and opened the door. "Luke! Yeah! Uh, come in!"

"Have you met, uh ..." She held her kittenfriend?! out. "This is Jude but he's usually not a cat. And that's Crookshanks, and he usually is a cat, and, uh, have a seat?"

Luke nodded like that all made sense and found himself a seat. "How have you been?"

How is the portal going to work? WILL it work, with the information we have?

(OOC: Sorry, Door, that Rikku keeps skipping you. She doesn't know yet that you're the other half of the equation.)

Dawn looked expectantly at Door, "I'm just here as a big battery--all the how to questions go to the little sib."

It's not that Door's doubtful, per se. She just doesn't have a clue if it will work. "It might work?" she says thoughtfully. "I'm better at getting places when I've been there before. And the farthest I've ever been so far is, well, here."

Rikku looked between them, thinking. "Okay. So just having the location ... Isabel's dream thing ... that may not be enough? If we're going there in our sleep, is that enough of a marker that you'd know the place and be able to get back there again?"

She bit her lip. "Is this ... whatever you two do. Is it dangerous? I don't want ..."

Does the sketch help? Is it enough? How does dreamwalking work, anyway?

"The sketch is great. But like I said, this is the first time I've tried to work off a sketch," Isabel reminded her. "But between the sketch, the sword, the symbol, and the wackiness that is Fandom, I'm hoping I'll be able to find him. And if not? Well, we'll all have a little bit of a nap."

"We take a nap?" Rikku adjusted the kitty in her lap and was listening intently. "What if people can't fall asleep?"

She considered. "I'm sorry we don't have a better picture. I'm not sure what the symbol is, but he wore it a lot, so it has to mean something to him. The sword ... my Godhand, it's like, I hold it and feel like it was supposed to come to me. If it's like that for him, that's a good thing, right?"

Being responsible. Right. "Is it ... the dreamwalking. Is it dangerous? For you, or for us?"

"I'm thinking positive," she replied. "With all of this, we will find him. And it's not dangerous, not all. Our bodies stay here. Mentally? We just take a little trip. Usually it's just into the person's subconscious. But since he is a dream? I'm not sure how that'll work."
