The 36-hour road trip!

Jul 09, 2006 20:49

I think I've overwhelmed myself with the quickest roadtrip ever - for me, at least. It's kind of weird knowing I left the house yesterday morning at 7:15 a.m. but was home again at 7:15 p.m. tonight; meanwhile, I've driven through four states (not located near mine)! Also weird is that the two persons behind the rental counter at Avis, the Avis ( Read more... )

or 4) When you find the right guy, just call him 'Mike' no matter what his name is. Tell him it is a term of endearment.

Glad you had a good weekend!

Yay! I'm glad you had a good time and there were no major hang-ups with the car rental. I know that was a great concern of yours and I'm glad things went relatively smoothly.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Mike. :)

OMgosh that sounds great! alysonl July 10 2006, 13:40:13 UTC
Now you need to write a P&P ficlet about Elizabeth going back to her boarding high school and meeting--bah bah bah baaaaaah--the hunky science teacher Mr. Darcy! :) *nudge*

Oh man I have lots of close friends who got married out of state and I never made the effort to go. Now I sort of feel guilty. But I'm sure I put that money to good use elsewhere. ;P

It sure does! katharhino July 10 2006, 16:40:21 UTC
I was thinking the same thing about out-of-state weddings, since one of my own bridesmaids just got married in Alaska and I couldn't go. It sounds so fun, and connecting with old friends is so cool...

When I read your subject heading, I thought for sure you were going to comment on the name of the orchard. :P

A ficlet, eh? I don't know. Are we talking former student/teacher now turning into something more sort of relationship? Because that would be kind of disturbing to me. Even if the teacher was like 22 and the student 18. Because it's still student and teacher . . . even if those paramaters are no longer in place. *squicky* But, if it were something else altogether . . . perhaps. ;)

And believe me, I definitely could have used the money I spent this past weekend on other things. But, I guess it's also hard to put a price on seeing the happy faces of your friend and her mother. This was only the first out-of-state wedding I had to attend, but I can't say I'd do this every time. So don't feel guilty. I'm sure your friends understood.

What a weekend! Go you with the adventuring; I'm quite envious of the road trip, actually. (And I'm glad Avis worked out for you!)

It was a very nice road trip - open roads, good music on my iPod, and great scenery too. That part of New England is so beautiful. I miss it. I wish I'd had a camera with me this weekend. *sigh*

(It worked out well, though I did have one complaint. I made the reservations with a coupon, and when I did the online reservation and they quoted a price it specifically said the coupon was not included but would be calculated at the counter. When I checked out yesterday, the cost was the same as the quoted price. I asked whether the coupon had been added in, and they said that it was. I was tired and not really thinking straight so I let it go. But, later on, as I thought about it a little more I wished I'd pointed out the language on my reservation print-out just to see what they'd then say. So I was kind of annoyed at myself for that. Oh well. Missed opportunities, lessons learned, I'll know better for next time.)

Ah yes, coupons. One must check and double check that things get done correctly, I find.
