This week, I've been paying closer attention to myself. I've paid closer attention to my interactions between people--physical interactions, not this online stuff--and I've learned a few things. You know, last week, I did something completely unexpected. One of my colleagues at work invited me to his show at The Brooklyn Coffee and Tea House in Providence. I figured I could use a change of pace, so I went and had more fun than I expected. I may go to more of his shows.

Anyway, that night I met people I haven't seen or talked to in months--some of them years--and realized how different I am from them. It was refreshing, in a nostalgic kind of way. I always wonder why I drifted away from them. Maybe I should look them up and spend some time with them.

It's good to not have common ground -- it's room for exploration.

Being friends is a wonderful thing. I've never minded it, although the feelings that developed got in the way. I want to remain his friend.
