The small bar was empty despite its location just off a busy street in the nightclub district of the city. The doorway was discreet and classy enough to draw in any number of curious stares and every now and then someone would drift closer for a look before suddenly scurrying away again. It would have confused anyone not from the city since if they

Until her eyes fell on the young girl playing chess in the corner. The gears of her mind turned as she recognized her face and tried to place it. Who was she...?
Nunnally, her mind supplied, but the name didn't help her figure out why the girl was important, though CC was certain she was. Irritated by her inability to recall, she ended up staring straight at the girl for several long moments with a frown on her face without realizing it.

"Would you like another Blue Lagoon, Miss C.C?" Nunnally asked curiously. Those amber eyes could usually make a person squirm under their direct focus, but Nunnally found them to be quite pretty and enjoyed the opportunity to see them a bit closer.

Well, no time like the present to find out. "That would be lovely." She answered, her face shifting easily into her most pleasant smile. "There's no other place around here where I can get one of these made decently."

Instead, she helped run the neutral bar and was whispered about behind her back as being suspiciously close to her brother. Sibling love could be a dangerous thing in some places. So far nobody had gotten around to mentioning those rumors to Nunnally it seemed.

Yet when she'd heard that her little half-sister had started spending time there, wanting a way to help out, her appearances became more and more common. She pushed through the doorway, unbuttoning her suit jacket and loosening her tie a little, though not so much that she'd look sloppy to anyone who happened across them. "He's a difficult opponent, isn't he?" It had to be her brother's match, of course.

"Cornelia-neesan!" Nunnally always enjoyed it when one of her older siblings stopped in even if it was just for a few minutes. Especially Cornelia since she had so little free time. Nunnally looked back at the game with a small laugh. "I'm glad he doesn't go easy on me like he used to, but it's a little bit frustrating when I still lose in under twenty moves." Still, Nunnally had improved quite a bit to no longer lose in under 10 moves. But that was one reason she preferred to work at the neutral bar rather than take on family business just yet, Nunnally was even less ruthless and cunning than a katagi. Nunnally moved away from the board and closer to her half-sister and started fishing out a bottle of the usual wine she preferred from under the counter.

"Nunally..." Sighing, and rolling her shoulders, she made her way over, looking more closely at the match. While Nunally was just as intelligent as the rest of the family, she didn't have that edge that others, like Cornelia herself, possessed. "Sometimes I don't do any better against Schneizel, even now, you know."

Wearing the costume in which she often attended school when Lelouch was unavailable, she strolled over to the table and studied the board. Fortunately she understood the basics, but she'd never won a game yet against either sibling. "That's quite a decision you have."

"Ah, I was just about to suggest the same thing," she said, turning away from the chess board. "I trust the elevator is working properly this evening?" Not that she minded carrying Nunnally up the stairs, but she didn't want to make the girl feel awkward about it.

Curious, she walked over to her. "Hello. Pardon me for interrupting, but what are you doing?"

"It's chess!" She replied with a hesitant smile. "And... I think I lost."
