In spite of herself and knowing that what she was doing was best, Katara couldn't help but be a little bit nervous. She'd always thought that one day she would get married .. but not like this. Not without her friends next to her, or even Sokka to walk her down the aisle. In the hotel's defense, it had provided a lovely banquet hall for her and ( Read more... )

Katara wasn't the only one that was nervous. Zuko was terrified but he knew he was doing the right thing and following his heart. True, if they both returned to their world neither would remember this but he wanted to make the time they had count.

The suit they left him was pretty simple to put on and soon he was ready. He wondered if anyone in the hotel would show or if they would be going at it alone. Either way, he was marrying Katara no matter what and as he stood at the front of the banquet hall waiting, he knew he would be happy.

Hope the pb icons are okay too, they're mostly for expression. forced_to_flee August 2 2011, 02:53:01 UTC
The figure in the back of the room was half hidden in shadow, looking towards her son at the front of the hall. She'd heard about the scar on his face but seeing it first hand was different than overhearing gossip. She hadn't expected to end up in a place like this, although given Zuko's attire, it was obviously an important day for him.

She stepped out of the corner finally, making her way to the front before she stopped a few feet back from him, waiting to see how he responded to seeing her.

[Sorry about the late reply, I had a bad migraine and was napping~]

Zuko did notice her. How could he not? He could spot his Mother in any crowd, either big or small. What he wasn't prepared for was the flood of emotion that hit him. He didn't balk at the sudden sting of tears though. His Father and sister weren't here to mock him or degrade him in any way, so he let them fall.

"Mama..."

To hell with his world for the moment and all the stresses of the war. To hell with his Father, his Sister, the Avatar, the Nations. At this point all that mattered to him was what was happening then and now.

He was getting married and his Mother was there.

"Please tell me you're not an illusion..."

"I'm not an illusion, Zuko." Her voice was just as he remembered it and she moved closer, lifting a hand to touch his face. "I don't know who brought me here, but seeing you is worth whatever I have to do to be here." Ursa smiled at her firstborn before she moved to hug him.

"You've grown up well, my son."

"I hear somebody's nervoooous!" Marceline said, from under her umbrella, as she strolled up behind Katara slightly. "...are you ready for your big day?"

Katara can't help but balk at the voice behind her, turning and flushing a pretty pink. As a bride should, on her wedding day! Eyeing the woman under the umbrella, she nodded a bit. She doesn't recognize her - but then again, there were so many people in the hotel she didn't know. Perhaps she knew Zuko?

"Yes," she replied, more confidently than she felt. "I think the nerves are mostly because of these heels. I'm not great at walking in them."

Marceline giggled slightly, as she put the umbrella down long enough to glance at her. "Have you considered wearing flats or flip flops?" Marceline offered, leaning against the umbrella slightly.

Katara blinked at the woman emerging from underneath the umbrella before nodding. "They aren't very elegant, really. And the hotel was set on me wearing heels," she offered, embarrassed. Still, you have to admit, they make a nice image with the dress. And she takes a few test steps, though she's a bit wobbly, she's looking better than before!

"I think I'll manage."

Getting used to opening random doors in this place she happened to do just that. However, this particular room was occupied. To Misa's surprise, it was a lovely young woman in a beautiful wedding dress. Odd...she looked rather similar to the man she had met just a few days earlier in that office room...

"Oh my, you look lovely. Did the Hotel randomly put you in that, or...?"

((ooc: Misa just had an encounter with a Sokka, which happens to still be going on over at the office kink thread. ;) This should be interesting, hmm? :D ))

Oh, what a nice thing to say! Katara blushed slightly, smiling at the blonde girl. It was a good question to ask, too. The hotel had a penchant for things that were unexpected- and apparently some people did fantasize about weddings. This one was a real one, however, and it was going to be a crowded one judging by everyone inside already!

"No, I chose it. I'm getting married today," she explained, hiding her nervousness behind another warm smile. "I'm waiting out here to see if my brother will show up."

ooc: Oh fun! 8D

At the news of the wedding, Misa lit up, smiling brightly as she stepped into the room fully.
"Oh, congratulations! How exciting!"
At the mention of a brother, hums quietly, her finger resting on her lips as she thinks a moment, peering at the young girl.
"I met a man the other day who looked similar to you. Is your brother's name Sokka?"
Thinking of Sokka, what they had done just a few days prior has her blushing softly. Hopefully she didn't notices, she knew that could be an uncomfortable subject among relatives, what with everything that goes on in this place.

Katara nodded shyly before her eyes widened. This girl knew Sokka? Apparently .. intimately, judging by the blush. Looking at her sideways and studying her for a moment, she nodded. The girl seemed nice enough to her - and Sokka was a man now. She couldn't mother him anymore. Not that she'd stop trying.

"Yes! He's here?" Her voice is slightly desperate, but the look on her face says that she knows EXACTLY how she met Sokka and is sort of impressed. It was the hotel, after all; it was hard for anyone to stay chaste. As long as they didn't talk about it outright (ew, she didn't want to know!), she'd overlook it.

"I wonder if he'll come to the wedding..."

Hao sat at his seat in the ceremony, not bothering with formal clothing, but he left his usual clothing and rested with just a white button up that stopped just below his collarbone, a pair of light blue jeans and sandals. Atleast he wasn't here in his poncho, shirtless underneath and a pair of pants, gloves, and boots. It was a wedding after all. He smirked, he knew that they were not going to work out in the beginning, finding himself not capable of finding someone he thought was worth his time ( ... )

Katara ... recognizes that voice. And when she hears it, she flinches slightly, before pasting on a smile. It wasn't his fault, how they'd parted last time! She'd made the mistake of caring too much, it seemed - a common mistake for her to make and one that she made often. But it wasn't something to be regretted. No, she was happy that he was here. She wished that same happiness for him, some day. Especially when she knew that because of the hotel it would be fleeting.

Smoothing her dress with slightly shaking hands, she nodded at his question. "Yes. I was hoping my brother would show up .. but ah, it seems like the hotel doesn't have him, or he's not been allowed to come. Yet. He's hopeless, so I'm guessing that if he does come, he'll be late," she replied cheerfully, tipping her head to the side.

"Did you decide to come, or were you brought here?"

I'm not really sure either. Let me talk about it with Zuko-mun. I'd love to have you!

So I talked to Zuko-mun and everything is kind of a free-for-all. If you choose to interact with Katara first, then there will be chatting with her until the ceremony. If not, then chatting with Zuko until the ceremony.

And eventually, we SMOOOSH it all together. ;^^
