I am really conflicted here. I can choose two different art programs and they both have there strong points and craps, so if it was YOU, which would you choose, based on the pro's and cons of each program?

Summary: Let's say you're currently taking a year off schooling to pimp up your portfolio for scholarships. You'll need to finish class by March ( Read more... )

The thing is, I haven't actually been in a classroom setting in Montecito while I have in Vision 21! So there are some cons and pro's that aren't listed on montecito's :< WHY MUST LIFE HAVE SO MANY CHOICES

Also, I love your happy penis ♥

I think Montecito sounds better, too. The second one, while closer, sounds a little iffy to me - especially when you mentioned they didn't have very many teachers. In my experience, that usually means you'll be ignored a lot and won't receive personal attention unless you constantly hound your professors.

Oh, I also forgot that they also didn't have as many students. (LOL I wrote stupids for some odd, odd reason) So the teacher is able to talk to each student as they work and stuff. But the thing is, they also DRAW ON YOUR ARTWORK AND FIX IT UP (which is a bad, bad thing, I think. Teachers should not help students by drawing for them )

Do you mean Montecito or Vision21? Either way, I'm definitely against that "drawing on the student's artwork" bit.

Vision21. I'm not exactly sure if Montecito does the same, but from what I hear of other peoples experiences, they don't :o

and the teacher messed one of my paintings up once by repainting an area D: Gahh~ I was so frustrated and pissed

Montecito, I'm sure. Vision21 doesn't even have a website that I know about. Montecito even gives you an official Maya-certified certificate that says that you are crazy skilled with Maya.

...and wow, that makes Vision21 suddenly look so pathetic o-o

Yeah, I think that the answer is pretty clear: Montecito seems overall to be a much better program, and the prices are so similar. You'll be busy, but that's not always a bad thing. 3D is the media of the future, people want that.

I personally think improving hand skills is more important, and I really like the one on one teaching aspect of Vision21 (I go to a private art class with a few friends and the one on one teaching made me improve SO much in only two years, also in art I don't think language is that much of a problem, depending on the teacher. Both of my teachers speak Chinese and Japanese, with limited English but we all understand each other pretty much through English AND THE LANGUAGE OF ART :DDDD Plus she treats me like I'm her daughter so that's pretty awesome too. XD).

But Montecito sounds like a better program overall. But what type of art do you want to do in the future? Cause that's important too since those two programs are so diverse.

I would definitely do the first one, but I want to go into animation. If you want to do, let's say, illustration or graphic design, I would go with the second ( ... )
