Bobby continued staring at the fire. The situation with Ami was worse than Bobby had thought. Ami wasn't just psychic. She was mega-psychic. They'd hung out quite a bit since that drunken walk home. She probably knew him like a book. Every failure. Every embarrassing detail. All of the crap that had happened with Charlene. How could she even look him in the eye

"'Telekinesis'," Vivian said. "The ability to affect the material world directly with the mind. Moving things by thinking at them."
Remarkable, James "said" to Vivian via their own technological form of telepathy.
Very, Vivian replied. But I'm more interested in the claim of teleportation. The culture on Zhumitao had a long, rich history of fantastical tales, some imported from earth when the planet was colonized by their ancestors to serve their Goa'uld overlord; others were native tales, most heavily influenced by the 'magic' of their Goa'uld gods

Ron and Lan sat silently, listening to the quiet murmerings of the team. It was late and Ron had the feeling that there could be bad feelings generated by such candid revelations.
Plus, he dreaded the moment when he'd need to chip in and reveal his own secrets... no, that was something neither Ron or Lan wanted to truly discuss. At least not yet.
The almost immediate acceptance of and curiosity about her abilities surprised Ami. After the initial reaction by Bobby, even he had apparently decided not to ostracize her, which was a relief. Ami didn't know quite what to say, but she was grateful.
Feeling heat flood her face, Ami ducked her head for a moment, hoping to hide the embarrassment. She took a few breaths and got herself under control. At least, that was her hope when she looked up at the interested faces gathered around.
Vivian answered Darien's question, saving Ami the need to do so. She did however, offer a demonstration. "Dr. Wu explained telekinesis," concentrating, she carefully and cautiously lifted a log closest to the fire and lowered it onto the flame, "And that's an example of it."
There would be more questions to follow, Ami was certain, and frankly, now that she thought about it, she was surprised that she still hadn't been called in by Jack -- (General O'Neill) -- and Sam -- (Colonel Carter) to test the full limits of her abilities

"There was a Goa'uld once, named Nirrti. She had experiments on dozens of worlds, trying to breed the ultimate human."
Ron looked up from the fire to the other faces "It's genetic, as far as we are able to tell. And it is something that Humans may eventually develop as a natural ability." He paused, picking up a stick "Even maybe something as natural as using a tool." Poking the fire a little, the log that Ami had lifted into place now started to be licked by the orange flames.

Jack interjected between Ami's words to Darien and Vivian, "Most people can learn to shield their thoughts. A sensitive like Ami uses shielding to keep the 'noise' of the world out. Each of you can learn to build walls to keep someone or something that would try to actively read your thoughts out of them

Darien snuck a sidelong glance at his unusually quiet friend. Hobbes looked... pensive. Never a good sign. How ironic that Ami of all people had the ability to see what was churning under Bobby's shiny pate.
Harkness tapped the ginormous watch on his wrist. "The teleportation function for this device isn't working, but it has one."
"The hell?" Darien interjected. Semi-seriously he continued, "I want some tech! I mean, besides the zat here, which is pretty sweet. And I didn't ask for the quicksilver gland." He faced Jack, then Boone. "You've got a busted teleportation wristwatch. You've got that gold healing device." Darien's gaze turned to Ami. "And you--" The woman flinched, of all things. "Whoa, no, it's okay. I mean, you've got everything hard-wired. Moving stuff just by thinking about it? Damn! And how does the teleportation work? You just think, 'Gee, I'd like to be in the hot springs near the mines," and poof?"

"Thank you for telling us, Ami."
