Sarah wasn't expecting company. There weren't many people she knew on the island - not, at least, personally, though she'd gotten to know a little something about a lot of people in the last few weeks. Certainly there were only a couple people she would think would be at her door. Then again, she never worked only on what she expected.

She was sitting on the bed when the knock came, working over the details of the island in her head for what felt like the millionth time and still getting nowhere. Moving closer to the edge of the bed, she drew one leg toward her, an arm draped casually over her knee. Ready to move fast if necessary, weapons in reach, she looked up. "Come in."

Somehow, Chuck couldn't help but think that letting himself into Sarah's hut was a little more awkward than if she'd answered the door herself. There was really no rational reason for it, but it crossed Chuck's mind, nonetheless.

"Hey," Chuck said, opening the door and entering cautiously. It probably wasn't a very smart idea to burst in on an armed CIA agent, even if it was Sarah.

"It's just me."

As casual as her pose had been, Sarah relaxed visibly at the sight of him. There was no call to be on alert when it was just Chuck, at least no more than she ordinarily was. If anything, she'd be less so. He had that effect on her, unfortunately. It was a troubling paradox, given that his presence really meant she ought to be doubling her caution on more than one front. Getting to her feet, she dusted her hands against her hips and smiled. "Chuck," she said, "hi. How are you?"

Any chance of Chuck relaxing when Sarah invited him in completely went out the window once he noticed that she was sitting on her bed. As difficult as this conversation was going to be in the first place, having it while sitting on her bed certainly wasn't going to help matters much.

"Good. Good-- you know, except for the boredom...but--but that kinda comes with the whole stuck on the island thing. You get used to it eventually." He stopped himself, realizing that he was rambling. "How-- how about you? Keeping busy?"
