Chuck had totally meant to talk to Sarah right after she got settled and completely briefed on everything that had happened on the island.
But right after she'd shown up, that whole thing with Halloween had happened, and he'd gotten stuck planning the party, and then he'd spent an entire day finally putting up the t-shirt hammock....
He'd been busy. Or stalling.
But mostly stalling.
He'd tried to talk to Sarah about their cover when she was on the island before, right before a failed kiss on New Years Eve. The whole thing had kind of blown up in his face, and in the end, the two of them hadn't been able to figure out where they stood before Sarah disappeared.
So maybe it was remembering that past New Year's Eve that made Chuck realize how little good stalling was doing. Just because the island had brought Sarah back didn't mean it wouldn't take her away again, and Chuck didn't know if he could deal with it a second time.
Hands stuffed into the pockets of his jeans, he made his way to Sarah's hut, and after a moment's hesitation, brought one hand up to knock on the door.
"Here goes nothing...."
