The day had turned out a little different than Chuck had expected it to. To be honest, he'd pretty much gotten used to thinking every day was going to end up being as boring and lame as the last one had, so it was kind of a surprise when things went differently

Ellie hadn't been planning on staying around the hut long. She'd just come by to put away a few things. She had just been headed toward the door, Chuck had come in.

"What's all this?" she asked, looking at the bundle of what looked like clothes in his arms. "Get lucky with the clothes box today?"

Chuck had almost forgotten he was dragging it behind him when he got to the hut, which was...well, it was understandable, considering the circumstances. He looked back down at it, a little embarassed.

"It's a hammock. A-- a t-shirt hammock. I swear, it was a cool idea when I thought of it."

Ellie had wondered where he'd disappeared to. She managed to bite back a smile at the sound of his project. For all she knew, it might work, even though it was a bit of a strange way to go about it.

"So that's what you've been up to all day today?" she asked, as she went to look for the sunscreen she'd brought over from the Compound.

Chuck nodded. "Well, that and getting a date, but more hammock-making than anything else," He said, casually easing his news into the conversation like it wasn't as big a deal as it actually was.
