Nonfiction Rambles

Oct 14, 2008 22:01

I am writing the most ridiculous piece of nonfiction in the history of ridiculous nonfiction pieces. I have no idea what my poor workshop partner is going to think tomorrow. Poor soul.

Honeybunches, I may not be able to show this one to you: you'll probably want to throttle me for my portrayal of us as children. But you must admit, we were KIND OF A ( Read more... )

I have no idea what epidemic smut might entail. But I don't think it would be good.

What is the rule of the internet that says if you can think of it, there is a porn for it on the internet?

That's what I thought when I saw "epidemic smut".

Haha, oh yes, I had forgotten that rule. Though it makes me shudder to think of the possibilties. (Then again... what is the saying-- those who live in glass houses should not throw rocks? Is that it? -___-;;)

And you're right, it was H for Hopeless. Hahaha...

You have a workshop partner for a nonfiction writing class? :X

Yes indeed. We trade papers and edit/comment on them. Then we have a second workshop where FOUR people trade papers, and then we edit them again, and then we hand them in.

Although my partner today had not finished her paper-- she thought the due date was thursday. So I had nothing to do... and now I'll have to read it later on my own time. Plus! My paper was super embarrassing, especially because it became the only paper being talked about. -__________-

But yeah, workshops. Kinda pretty much like a beta. (except they have no choice heh)

Oh, wow. I would be quite embarrassed if something I wrote was read, edited and critiqued that many times. >_< (especially if it was a true story!!) I also don't take criticism well. Heh heh... Mostly because I'm a beta for my friends (and I'm always right! Mwaha.)

*ahem*

Why was your paper the only one being talked about? :X

Yeah, it can be embarrassing-- especially the first time. But some of the advice is good, and it helps you to look at what's missing in your paper, or what's awkward/not working. I think that's something that's really hard to notice in your own writing. A different, more objective point of view is often much appreciated. ^_______^ (*laugh* I would LOVE to always be right. I always get sooo embarrassed when I muck up).

Oooh my paper was the only one being discussed because... she didn't have one. XD

*love*

Somersaults?

And it's okay, really. No, really. I just wrote 7 pages of the world's worst paper ever. Then two pages on Jewish Wedding dances.

At least it was not five pages of the world's most RIDICULOUS paper?

And it was even sillier/embarrassing than somersaults. HEHHHH.

Jewish Wedding Dances, eh?

If you had to decide between me starting to write that *ahem* story thing we discussed over AIM a few days ago, and continuing/completing my last year's NaNoWriMo, which would you choose?

...

And if you choose the former, which train of story would you like most pursued?

Well I REALLY would like to see what you could do with the idea that we discussed over AIM-- now that you have teased and told me about it. ^_____^

But which route to take.. oh my goodness, HMMMM. I see the difficulty.

I am a fan of angst and bad situations, though ^__^ as I think you are also. I wonder which one would involve the most trouble (and then best resolution)? HMMMMMMMMM.

I guess it IS almost November, though, isn't it. Will you be doing Nano?

Stop "HMMM"-ing and help me choose. X_x it's hard enough trying to even think of how to start writing it after it being so vivid in my head. If I could draw, it'd be a comic you know. Though the story itself might even get graphic. I have never written graphic. Hm.

At the moment there are...four? routes, I think. Nuuuu T_T

As for Nano, THAT...is an interesting question. That has been giving me stomach aches. I want to. I do. I want to. But I don't want to fail. If I sign up, I'm in to win. And I don't know if I can this year--don't know if I've got it in me.
